I mean, thats not the point though is it? Comparing any crime to a lenient sentence.. or a harsh sentence. Its not like me posting a link to a guy who got ten years for illegally downloading music will change perceptions on this news story, because its not remotely relevant.

A hate crime was commited and 8 months seems reasonable, comparing it to lenient or harsh sentences from the past shouldnt change the context.

what double standards?

people think its a bit harsh but noone is saying that we should ignore the sentence

Have they to abide by our laws or face the consequences or not?

The deputy leader of Britain First has been found guilty of religiously aggravated harassment afer she hurled abuse at a Muslim woman wearing a hijab.

Jayda Fransen, 30, was fined nearly £2,000 for wearing a political uniform and shouting at Sumayyah Sharpe during a "Christian patrol" of Bury Park in Luton, on Saturday 23 January.

no thank goodness and the jails can be kept for actual criminals who pose a danger to society

The real crime here is the waste of bacon tbh

This.Bacon is the food of the gods.I don't trust anyone who doesn't like bacon. It goes with everything.

What happened to the man who racially abused staff in MacciecDs, he got a kicking did he get 8 months as well, our prisons would be even more heaving if everyone who abused someone went to jail

They obviously did more than calmly throwing rashers of bacon though. :umm2: Can't believe people are glorifying this act, they just wanted to cause trouble after they had been binge drinking. It's nice that you're all so proud of your countrymen. :clap1: :joker:

yeah like cherie suggested a fine would've been the best way to deal with this situation.

I don't see anyone saying they should not have been convicted of a crime... they are hardly glorifying the act :nono:

(serious response: this is obviously stupid and a waste of taxpayer's money)

they are both polish economic migrants?

(but tbh they could have been pissed up brits)

Ammi 04-11-2016 05:57 AM

...I know it's a serious thing but it did make me smile reading they were tracked down by the police finding empty bacon packets in their possession...yeah the sentencing seems very harsh and feels like a 'making example of sentencing' possibly...lots of Polish people have also been subjected to 'hate' and prejudice so it's sad that the same has been done by a few to others who have also been subjected to the same thing../that there wasn't more of an understanding rather than an intolerance...a community service type sentencing would have been more the thing as well...a harsh sentencing will only I think instil more negative feelings...well it has already if they've been attacked by Muslims in prison...

Northern Monkey 04-11-2016 06:27 AM

I bet they were shocked when the pigs turned up.I wonder if they put them in the back of a meat van when they arrested them....

:laugh::laugh: I think they knew they were for the chop when their solicitor took them to one sideand advised them it was better to shoulder the blame than try to tell any pork pies.

My last word on this (or maybe not :hee: I'm having sooo much fun. )

I actually feel sorry for one of the Poles because he slipped a disc carrying out the atrocious deed and is now suffering immense pain.

When asked how his injury happened he said in broken English:

"The English butcher told us when we bought the bacon; "Lean Back", so I did when I threw it."

My best laugh of today Kirk.:laugh:

Do you disagree with the penalty, I've not read through the thread yet. Do you think the penalty should be more or less severe?

Edit: just seen most people think this sentence is too long. They broke laws lol, lawbreakers go to jail, its kinda how it works.

It would be nice if it applied to ALL lawbreakers though. The rabid muslim's who scream death and hatred on British streets seem to be pretty well immune to even a fine.

Yet the muslim male who spat at a journalist and said 'you don't belong here' in a West yorkshire town didn't even get a slap on the wrist!!
