Welcome to the 1920's :worry:

Donald Trump today banned the US government from giving funding to health groups that offer abortion counselling.

The President signed an order reinstating the “global gag rule”, which denies US foreign aid to groups who "perform or actively promote" terminations.

He was photographed signing the bill in the Oval Office, flanked by eight members of his staff, all of whom are men.

Vice President and anti-abortion campaigner Mike Pence, chief of staff Reince Priebus, his son-in-law Jared Kushner and top advisor and former far-right website owner Steve Bannon were all present.

There did not appear to be any women present for the signing.

Would be nice having a female there since they're making decisions that involve women and their bodies. I find it offensive and draconian infact

No they won't. Abortion is a huge problem in countries that don’t legally offer them. Back street abortions are not the way forward but if that’s the only affordable option, women will use them. Complications with back street abortions are; women die, the fetus survives but will normally be brain damaged and late abortions are much more common... the fetus really is a viable baby when its wrenched from the womb.

Women and men, need to be better educated, need better support , need better access to contraception, need better advice and time and options such as having their baby fostered or adopted.
Whilst I don't agree with using abortion as a contraceptive, you surely grasp that many thousands of contraceptive clinics will close down and so that much needed advice may not be available.

Yes Jessica I have read it

they perform them but its irrelevant when it comes to law making - best person for the job should always win.

MB. 24-01-2017 04:41 PM

Yes, the most important people when it comes to abortions are the brave men who perform them

I give up

Surely even you can see how ridiculous it is for loads men to sign in a law telling women what they can and cannot do with their bodies, even though they will never know what it's like to have an unwanted pregnancy or have an abortion

No because I know the religious make-up and history of America. Its ridiculous to judge them based on our country as seems to be the case here?

Not bothered about the religious history of America, doesn't change the fact that this law is an absolute joke and a disgrace along with other anti abortion laws around the world

Indeed :worry:

It's not much of a surprise though, didn't he make comments about wanting to punish women for having abortions, and given the people he's surrounded himself with :worry:

Not a Trump fan, but it is a Republican thing.

He's the man in charge though and the one signing the paper so if people feel it's worthy of criticism it's fair enough to point that at him. If it was someone else I'd be criticizing them instead.

Well that hasn't happened, so what are you fussing about?

Women can have abortions, but if they want them, then they can pay for them themselves. They're getting to be responsible for themselves.

Why should a tax-payer, who has no children, and get's no financial help for having no children, have to pay for other peoples mistakes?

This is so fcuked up
I don't mean Trump and his madness but the amount of English guys who support absolutely everything he does. Its like an unhealthy crush.

Well tell us your objections to this policy, of taking away the funding for abortion?

Or would you rather play identity politics and make the story about no women being in the room?

So people who dont share your views are f ucked up?

I love how people think they are so right about the world that they can only think that those who disagree with them are somehow deranged and there for fair game for personal abuse

@Withano@Dezzy and @DM

can you not see the irony?

you really could not make this up

I'm starting to think some members of this forum want Trump inside them, it's gotten so ridiculous.
