I don't really know if I actually have a job because like he didn't ask for me 8 weeks, well he asked me this Sunday.

There's always a kitchen assistance, so he's just choosing not to have me. And he said we work on a two week basis, so let me know in advance if you're are unavailable certain weekends.

So like clearly not wanted there.

Yeah lol.

Whatever it is you should have a contract stating what your hours are, you shouldn't have to put up with that..

My friends son went for an all day trial at the gadget shop 9 to 5 which his Mum wasn't happy about as he wasn't being paid and they didn't provide lunch or travel costs but he was desperate for a part time job... then they called him and said he had done very well but they felt he could do with another days trial at a different shop ..all unpaid ..:umm2: he didn't go

Omg that awful, feel really sorry for him.

I had to do the same, I got 1 hour notice and worked in the evening as like a tester. And then they took like 2 weeks to reply. But I know I haven't really got a job, basically they want me when there desperate. I think I'm gonna say I have another job now because I don't like spending each week wondering if I can do something on the weekend. I've spent the last weeks planning nothing for the weekend and not worked once. :umm2:

I was wanting to go to my dads this weekend and i might since i've heard nothing.

If you liked it ring him and ask if you can have some idea of hours, I suspect he will say you are on zero hours as they won't have to pay you sick pay or maternity

Callum, this is your boss from the pub here. I need to speak to you once you finish your shift.

I hate service like that. I refuse to tip slackers.

DON'T BE SO RIDICULOUS. Absolutely not!

Black Dagger 29-03-2017 09:12 PM

I work with an agency, and if they're ever inconvenient with me I just ignore their calls and then ring them back a bit later (when they've filled a shift) and say sorry I missed your call because I was out lol

But it's very rare for me to do so. I'm not work shy :hee:

thesheriff443 29-03-2017 11:06 PM

There is no baby, the boss is a player and wants to play hide the sausage with her sexy husband while cal works.
Cal you sucker.

ebandit 30-03-2017 07:59 AM

it depends? like if you have said you would be happy to work more hours, if you have categorically said you can only work the agreed hours then that's a different story.

Denver 30-03-2017 12:34 PM

My boss is well aware not to call me on me days off

Vanessa 30-03-2017 01:28 PM

I don't answer calls from work on my days off. They know i'm not doing overtime at the moment and that's it. I might do it when i sorted out my kidney issues. At the moment i don't feel well enough to do it.

MTVN 30-03-2017 09:03 PM

Find it strange that so many see their boss as an enemy, if they're calling you on your day off its going to be their last resort the vast majority of the time and they'd obviously rather not ask you but needs must sometimes when you're running a business. Maybe my situation is rare but I get on great with my boss :hee:

Jay. 31-03-2017 09:08 AM

i ignore my boss daily, he texted me 4 times one night because it was my first shift back and i forgot to do one thing lol as if the world's going to end if something isn't put on a shelf

Cherie 31-03-2017 09:11 AM

Reading some of these replies it's no wonder bosses like workers from abroad :hee:
