Beer garden is busy ain't it!

James 26-04-2007 06:37 PM

It reminds me of the place in in the North of Scotland where my Grandmother came from.

Sticks 27-04-2007 09:15 AM

I saw a dead lamb today

most upsetting, had to report it to the farmer.

Wireless connection in the tavern hopeless, so having to freeze in the beer garden.

I think this is the wireless transmitter.

Funny you should mention that.

My boat is due to leave tomorrow, weather permitting, then I travel back to Newcastle on Sunday.

Red Moon 27-04-2007 12:04 PM

Have a safe trip back. I'm going to miss the daily updates and pictures. You might have just started a new craze on the site holidays as they happen in text and pictures.

Enjoy your last evening on the island.

Mrluvaluva 27-04-2007 12:11 PM

Yeah, enjoy your last day/night Sticks.

Well things have got of to a bad start. It took this picture this morning of my luggage outside the property. Officially it had to be outside by 09:30 and we vacate the property by 10:00. Now I was not sure what time they would collect it, although they said we could leave it and they would collect it. It was just after 08:00 and I thought I would be helpful and take it down myself. I thought the possible break points were the handle on the side, due to deformation and the wheels, trundling on a dirt track.

I was passing through a sheep field between the south west field and the camp site. I was alternatively using the handle on the top, near the extendable drag handle and the side handle. With in site of the gate to the camp site and near the end of the trek, the handle on the top of the suitcase broke.

Even if you super-glued it, it would never hold. It is going to be a challenge getting it back to Newcastle, and with my expedition hat and its turquoise colour it was it's own cartoon character. If only I had done what everyone else does and left it for pick up. It is now in the crates awaiting loading on to MS Oldenburg.

:bawling:

On 26 September I am travelling down to Ilfracombe

I am going to Lundy again :hello:

Not sure how I am going to fare this time, especially due to the credit crunch

Magic 14-09-2008 08:19 PM

Oh, I suspect all will fair good.

Sticks 14-09-2008 09:33 PM

For some reason, all the images I uploaded last year have gone

If you want to see Lundy 2007 go here

If I can get internet access via wifi this year, I will most likely use Facebook, so watch this space

Sticks 25-09-2008 09:40 PM

Just a reminder

Tomorrow I start my trek to Lundy Island

There is no guarantee I will be able to get internet access, so if you do not hear from me for a while, that will be why.

Mrluvaluva 25-09-2008 09:43 PM

Have a good time.

Lauren 25-09-2008 09:50 PM

Hope you have a nice time Sticks. :spin2:

Sticks 27-09-2008 06:26 AM

I made it down to Ilfracombe last night

Today we are due to sail

Here are images of my trip down from Newcastle to Ilfracombe

Had some issues with the camera re smart cards and batteries. Hoping they are resolved.

Not certain if I will be able to access the internet while on the island.

Annie 27-09-2008 08:28 AM

Hope you enjoy the rest of your travels Sticks and don't miss the internet too much if you cant get WiFi on the island..

Sticks 28-09-2008 03:22 PM

OK the internet is working today

So here is the link to the sailing across images

Sticks 28-09-2008 04:12 PM

Some of this morning's photos

Incidentally it has been a really nice day, but even so after lunch that I cooked at my property Old Light Cottage, I ended up having a nap!!

Then some time after 14:30 I took my lap top down to the Marisco tavern and spent the rest of the afternoon clearing email and uploading stuff to facebook.

Oh the weather forecast for the rest of the week is dire - Whatis wrong with me

Mrluvaluva 29-09-2008 10:23 AM

Nice pics Sticks.

Sticks 29-09-2008 03:45 PM

To make up for yesterday, I did two walks this morning

Millcombe Valley

I also walked to the north of the island

Could not get as far as the North Light, and just after Halfway wall, I got a lift back in a land rover

Magic 29-09-2008 03:47 PM

Very picturesque... My next page 3 shoot will be there!
What you been up to?

Di2001 29-09-2008 07:57 PM
