You're saying because the scarecrow is black it is a gollywog which are racially derogatory dolls, that is because they do not represent how a black person really looks and the image mocks black features. But when creating a white scarecrow it doesn't have to fully represent white people's features and is therefore not a racially derogatory image. So what I am saying is because you would not say that a white scarecrow is offensive because it does not look like a white person then why should a black scarecrow be racist as it also does not look like a real black person.

Have you ever dealt with racism personally?

Oh, right. Thank you for that little factoid.

I imagine a lot of people are capable of letting bigoted and offensive things wash over them and laugh it off, good for them it should never get them down, don't let the twats win. But that doesn't make it not bigoted and not racist.

LOOK at it. It's doing exactly that and he agrees as he directly responds to a woman asking him if it's politically correct with "I think it looks like Christine".

Because he's just been sacked for racist comments.

But then that too was obvious.

But it could have been dealt with before hand and does anyone actually have a link to the page

Yes but the only reason he has been sacked and that this has been perceived as racist is because he has made racist comments in addition to this, but I do not believe that this alone is racist. He is racist I have not denied that what I have been talking about is the scarecrow.

My personal experiences aren't relevant here, but keep reaching I guess, you keep jumping from one thing to the next 'oh it's not racist' 'oh people would just laugh it off' and then this. Messy.

Clearly not since the woman commenting on the photo did so at the time he posted it. And all of us here have only just seen it.

So creating this with jet black material was a coincidence then? I suppose he ran out of potato sacks?

And only your experiences matter and are regarded as the "real" issue. Ok.

No maybe it was intentionally meant to look like a black Olympian, but I guess that's banned and only white ones are allowed. That's more racist than anything.

When did i say that?

What u dealt with us only a fraction of what my grandad dealt with when he moved to the UK in the 50s as a young lad.

I also live in an area that is full of black and Asian people and I've seen the chaos go off on them..

The way to stamp out racism is to not give it attention because it is generally the aim of the game to get a reaction.

I'm lucky I managed to live both sides because I get everything and I can tell full on racists to attention seekers looking for a quick reaction to get in the media.

Now this is the guys aim he knows he is getting elected so he is finding ways to get reality like a few other politicians in the past

Making a doll poking fun at the features of a black person, yes.

Took you a while but you got there in the end.

LukeB 15-05-2017 12:23 AM

he's taking the piss out of her for his own entertainment and he is a known racist too. It's offensive, people are offended, the person who it's aimed at is offended by it. I don't know why anyone is excusing it. The man is pure scum

So? We don't sell black people into slavery anymore either, that's good. Does that mean racism doesn't exist or can't exist because "it used to be much worse". Really?

Whatever. There was no poking fun, some people need to stop being warriors for things that don't concern them.

Really? Because he himself seemed to find it hilarious.

Sorry, I'm not allowed to recognise racism. It doesn't concern me. Lmao.

That's not relevant. We're discussing a specific example here in this thread.
