You're not angry about that Spanish song or that Liam Payne song beating Ariana in the download chart though... so it's pretty obvious what you're actually angry about.

People wouldnt need foodbanks if they didnt spoke and spend money on things you dont need

Lostie! 30-05-2017 05:28 PM

You know you've hit a new low when you start playing charity top trumps.

Tune in to BBC radio one at about 6 to see how they deal with this!

lewis111 02-06-2017 11:42 AM

They won't play it, they won't be allowed
They'll just be like, at number 6 (maybe) is a New Entry for Captian Ska
And moving on to number 5 is...

:joker: who is this guy! What a lad

joeysteele 02-06-2017 12:02 PM

It for sure is a totally appropriate song and fully correct as to Mrs (untrustworthy deceitful) May.

Withano 02-06-2017 04:09 PM

They just played a compilations of tracks that might get number one, the presenter reffered to 'a political campaign song' also standing a chance!

Withano 02-06-2017 04:15 PM

Theyre at number 7 already, I was way off with my estimation of 6pm-ish

Tell that to the people who don't smoke or spend money on things they don't need and still have to use food banks.

A top 5 smash! When can Ed Sheeran?

Tom4784 02-06-2017 04:27 PM

Are the 'One More Time' sales even going to charity? I think Adam's suggestion that a charity single isn't worth if it isn't for Manchester to be quite flawed.

I personally agree that the song shouldn't be played, I'm pretty sure it's in breach of partiality laws that broadcasters have to abide to in times of general elections plus it's ****ing woeful.

Withano 02-06-2017 04:31 PM

:joker: i agree they shouldnt play it tbf

They went to some newsround reporter instead that explained why it wasn't being played in a very serious tone, and without mentioning May or Conservatives once!

It got to number 4

Kizzy 02-06-2017 04:59 PM

Just play the effing song! partiality laws ....pffft

It's a protest song, what the hell is wrong with that?...

They half implied that its because of the upcoming election, so it might get played next week?

Jack_ 02-06-2017 05:35 PM

I'm sure I saw someone on Twitter say they'd scoured both the BBC's election impartiality guidance and Ofcom's rules and found nothing pertaining to political songs.

They did this with Ding Dong... after Thatcher's death too. It of course wouldn't be appropriate for either song to be playlisted, but the remit of the official chart is to play the most bought/streamed songs of the week. If you don't do that, the show is pointless. Mind you, the chart is so short these days they can get away with it.

Kizzy 02-06-2017 06:15 PM

Well with ding dong I accept that, it was not appropriate but this is, it's the democratic will of the people that downloaded that song :hehe:
