Imagine yourself in the same situation had one of your friends gone in, you'd be supporting him/her no matter what. None of us are applauding him for cheating though

This,there's nothing wrong with supporting friends. all of the housemates have friends who will support them so why is it different for Raph?

I think they were probably applauding him for being honest. He could've easily just said "oh my partner was cheating so I cheated on revenge" or some bull**** lie, and he could've just not included the fact he cheated on his boyfriend

He was honest and put himself out there and the whole nation/all BOTS audience + 2 people watched and know that he's cheated, and that may affect future relationships (maybe not romantic, since he doesn't 'believe in love', but regardless he was under the impression the nation's gonna define him as a cheater)
