Occasionally if there is an argument that I am actually part of so I don't feel I could mod impartially :laugh: Most of us do this too...if we feel we might be a bit biased for whatever reason we report it instead of actually deleting or whatever. I once went through a phase of not deleteing/infracting one certain member as he got on my tits so much I felt like banning him everytime he posted so it wasn't fair for me to actually deal with him myself D:

It depends how you define 'out of order'. A lot of reports we get are basically as the member doesn't like the poster, or they disagree with the post rather than it actually being a rule break. Recently we have had a increase in the amount of posts reporting for 'baiting' when not one of us can see how the post is actually baiting at all :S

As josy said the funniest/most annoying is when members post on the board about their infractions and ALWAYS make out they did nothing. the 'I was banned for a week for saying hello' posts are both funny and bloody irritating in equal measure
Yes. We used to be able to do this when we didn't get like 50+ reports per day. before the system changed to infractions we barely got any reports, only ever when someone actually was breaking rules. Then we used to get reports PMed to us and I sued to reply to most of them even if no action was taken. We would literally all need to be on for like 8 hours per day to properly reply to every report we get these days :laugh:

After carefully studying all the days "reports" from concerned members its Vicky's job to file them for action the next day...

I wonder whether it would be better to let grown ups have some confrontation and a little conflict. I don't see how it's better for one bunch of people to have another bunch of people - mods - who have no noticeable common policy when it comes to enforcing rules; each one of them seems to interpret them differently. And exactly who moderates the moderators? I've decided the report button isn't as effective as walking away and finding something better to do.

i rarely report as anyone can get "involved" in a discussion. Its usually when i see a clear personal attack on a member

I won't mod on topics that I'm personally involved with (unless it's a blatant infraction) so if something comes up I may report it to bring it to the attention of the other mods so they can decide what to do but then again I more often than not just bring it up in Tibb Towers.
