No but there are better ways of fighting it than shoving it down people’s throats

It's more brining awareness to this issue, which is a good thing

No this is the age of snowflake syndrome where social movements want special treatment not equal treatment

Take a glance through tibb since the series started and have a proper think about whether homosexual and transexual people are seen as equal by a group of big brother forum members.

“Oh he’s gonna break some girls heart”

“She’s gonna make a great little wife”

“Boys don’t play with dolls”

Being straight is the enforced norm.

So do ginger kids and disabled children and kids with glasses ,wheres your pity for them ?

Honestly if we were having this discussion about race then half the people In here would be banned but homophobia is still accepted in society it's weird

I understand bringing awareness to something and I get it

But I just don’t get why that should equate to letting sexuality define you, as it does with people like Shane j

I was never made to feel I was in "constant repression". Being straight is seen as normal because almost everyone is straight, and most boys and girls have interests which match their gender. Some girls like boy things, some boys like girl things. It's not seen as much of a big deal these days, just like being LGBT isn't.

When I came out, nothing changed apart from the gender which people said I might break the hearts of, or make a great partner for.

That is a valid point and I suppose I can see that but the topic of discussion seems to have drifted away from that to more extreme views that should not be accepted or defended

Why do you keep assuming that anybody who acknowledges the mere existence of homophobia can't possibly care about other issues too? It's a bizarre reach.

It’s crazy isn’t it! Racism is still equally as bad a problem. Usually with the same people. But homophobia isn’t taken as seriously by the general population

Nothing like a straight person telling gay people that discrimination against the LGBT doesn't exist.

You know nothing of what we face or have dealt with, don't ever pretend to.

Lilac hills 28-01-2018 10:17 PM

Ik this discussion has gone elsewhere but just look at his vt

Instead of hey I’m Shane Jenek I’m from x and this is my journey and triumphs in life it’s just labels labels labels labels

Idgi is it to compensate for lack of personality, and I’d forgive it if he was like a nice person

So so many posts in here that are at the very least borderline rulebreaks. I get that this is an emotive topic but there is no need for insults and such. Nor is homophobia tolerated on here. Will have a look though this properly tomorrow when I am less medicated.
