most young females these days are copying the drag queen thing, fish lips, cheek implants, false eyelashes, ridiculous amount of hair extensions, and for some reason girls dress just like drag queens these days, its not just celeb women but look at the girls from geordie shore and ex on the beach, the surgery has made them look less of having a feminine face, they look more like one of rupaul's drag dancers, same with katie price, she looks more like a man these days with the surgery she has had.

Drag acts dress for effect, they welcome critiques or they wouldnt dress so outrageous. Also, they can hide behind these outfits and become whoever they want, the real person isn't the one being criticized. |

Try reading the whole post. I explained further. Have I stepped on a nerve? I was not the only person with that sentiment. |

But the gist is that drag is meant to be an exeggeration of various iconic female looks (e.g diva, 50s housewife, disco queen, 60's chick, etc etc). Over time it diversified and now drag queens adopt different takes on it. E.g. some go for a relatively slight exeggeration like Courtney or RuPaul, others go the traditional route and look like a caricature of a woman like Bianca Del Rio. And there are some that go completely off the beaten track and look more like aliens. edited to add: And no, they don't think women are trashy. The opposite, they adore women. They support women's rights and are in awe of women generally. |
And to add further to my previous post:
the equivalent movement amongst lesbians to dress as men as a performance act (i.e not everyday life) never taken off equally strongly as male drag. There are some lesbians who dress and perform as Elvis tribute acts, but that's it afaik, although I may be wrong. |

Slight exaggeration like having his genitalia up his wotsits covered in tape, wearing no underwear and deliberately showing it to the viewing public. Slight exaggeration. |
