Why is nobody surprised

Medium for me...slight redness in the middle keeps the steak succulent and juicy....and filet is my favourite cut.

I used to work in restaurants and chefs HATE it when people order well done, it's just nicer though imo.

Medium-well every time but I could go for medium for sure. Anything less than medium grosses me out and well done is too dry.

Also I just finished lunch & now I'm super hungry again after reading this :skull:

There's nothing worse than spending 6 hours trying to chew your meat.

It depends. On the quality of the steak, the cut, the quality of the place, whether I'm having sauce as I dont like blood in the sauce etc.

My daughter like this dodgy place, ordered a steak from there I had a bite and was still chewing it 10 minutes later so I'd be quite fussy about how I'd have a steak at that restaurant but if I was going to a better place then I'd leave it to the chef. If I went to franchise place it would depend on the cut of meat - There's not point in having a fillet mignon anything over medium rare but a rib eye or rump is probably better cooked beyond medium rare. So it all depends.

Unless abroad, then I ask for welldone but this means it comes medium. Everytime I have ordered medium abroad it has came almost raw :S

I do cut the fat off though. Cannot imagine not doing that, would be gross :umm2:

Ah yes, not often I have that but I agree. I was at some michellin star place with my dad and ordered this and he death stared me when I asked for medium, so I got ir rare and oh my god. Was the best thing I have ever tasted.

Had never had it before so just assumed it would be like a rump/sirloin. Have had it twice since, always rare.

Wish I could afford to eat at places like that more often tbh. Only went there as he was paying :laugh:

But...filet mignon has no fat on at all and the flavour is amazing :suspect:

I eat the fat but much prefer the fat on lamb chops and bacon tbh

Googlebox - made up my mind gonna have those goujons with chips in a basket , a finger dinner whilst goggleboxing.

Its far too expensive for me to have too often too. Agree though if its on the menu I always take a look then decide its too pricey:laugh:
