I dont think its true

Mystic Mock 29-07-2018 07:51 AM

I feel sad as it didn't have to end this way for BB.

If Ch5 had've just let it be what it was like on Ch4 I still think it would be on air for another decade to come, I honestly do.

Probably because these 'celebrities' aren't celebrities

'Courtney Act' - Australian "drag queen"
'Jonny Mitchell' - "Love Island" Series 3 contestant,.
'Marissa Jade' - American 'mob wife'

its true that it could just be the sun trying to gain attention with a white lie... personal I think they wont deiced until half way through bbuk...

I though think it would be better on itv or itv2...

How i see it, i watch these channels for certain things:

- bbc is best for serious documentaries
- c4 is a mixture of family stuf, or aimed at people with kids..
- itv can vary...
- itv2 is more for the younger half of the population (or people who act like the younger half)... the young and fun who watch too much tv (like me! as i love family guy so i think i watch this channel the most)
- c5 is more about crime, violence, car chases, ancient and emergency stuff and dog recuse...

tbh i don't really know why c5 got in in the first place... I also have not watched bb in 5 years so a few months ago thought it was on either c4 or itv. alothough c5 do have blind date on there too... I dont know why they have that one on the either... maybe they dont want all the programs to be simila

I think itv2 should get it

It’s sad news if true but it’s not entirely unexpected tbh. The show and Channel 5 have had their heads buried in the sand creatively for quite a few years now and it’s only just getting serious about change when it needed to quite a while ago. Still, hopefully another network will take it on - perhaps Sky where the lower viewing figures might not be such an issue.

Very sad news but like others have said, inevitable. It’s been treated disgracefully for years. Sad that just 3/4 years ago it was riding high with the likes of CBB13, BB14 and CBB15. Hopefully it isn’t the end of the format as a whole but it’s had a good run!

T* 29-07-2018 09:02 AM

LMFAO

Cal. 29-07-2018 09:03 AM

I wonder if Davina has been given some inkling that it’s on it’s way out due to being in the industry and that’s what she’s been so nostalgic and positive about the show on social media recently.

Alf 29-07-2018 09:05 AM

When you overly cater for small demographics in society while neglecting a larger one, you're gonna get poor ratings. They ruined it themselves.

Wizard. 29-07-2018 09:19 AM

Oh well, even though they have been a complete MESS and tacky and we love to hate it if it wasn’t for Channel 5 we would have been Big Brother-less for the last 7 years and they have served us some iconic moments! I’m not really bothered if another channel doesn’t pick it up, I feel like I will be okay without it, besides I still watch the Canadian and US version although they don’t possess that British humour.

Also oops at Channel 5 having to fill 110 hours of TV with Cruising with Jane McDonald, Jane Mcdonald and Friends, Gina D’Campos Wish List, TV’s 100 Most Shocking Moments and a plethora of benefit documentaries.

Wizard. 29-07-2018 09:21 AM

I also kind of expected this to happen after Timbomb so for it to keep breathing 3 years later she’s had more than ha 9 lives!

The worst part is there's probably 100 other celebrities less famous than these 3 that have appeared on the show

CELEBRITY Big Brother has been axed after seven years on Channel 5.

Bosses have reported decided to end the show after the upcoming series over falling ratings.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: "After months of discussions it has been decided to axe Celebrity Big Brother. Ratings have dropped for the past few series so it isn’t worth the hefty price tag."

Earlier this year Channel 5 began taking pitches for shows to replace the once hugely popular reality TV show.

Industry magazine Broadcast reports that if Big Brother and its celebrity version were to be cut – Channel 5 would be left with http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/index.phpmore than 110 hours of primetime TV to fill.

There is still an existing deal in place, which will ensure Big Brother this summer, followed by the celebrity version.

Last year it was the same time ITV2HD Love Island.
This year its after that ITV show has ended.

Depends who they get on this year's show
in a few weeks , really.
