What a messy situation, I don't get the logic of punishing a player for being coached, surely they should just send the offending coach away while the game is ongoing? Punishing the player seems a bit silly.
She should have tried to communicate her point better but I definitely think she got a penalty because she was a woman because male players have been vocal and aggressive to umpires without any kind of penalty. That's a massive imbalance there. I also think, due to the newspaper cartoon that's went viral, this has become a race issue. She's being painted as the angry black woman when, if she was a white man or a woman, she wouldn't be seen in the same way. |

Just to point out that McEnroe got loads of penalty points during his career, referees were called in etc etc ... and he was a white male
|
McEnroe is a really extreme example though tbf BOTS, he was more famous for his tantrums than anything else. It would be ridiculous to compare him with Serena

You defended the point that the drawing DOES in fact look like her, and then defended it for NOT looking anything like her. Either it does or it doesn't. :joker: |

 Mats Wilander is a good expert for the slam day highlights, discussions before and after the matches, he was full of praise to Naomi Osaka, but he was also quite shocked that Serena had lost the final while she had been playing amazing throughout the US Open now |
sigh
yes its just the women players who get the violations and warnings... https://news.sky.com/story/serena-wi...upset-11494215 |

she now has a 2.100 point lead over the no.2 Wozniacki, so she's doing well getting to that 2nd year end #1 in a row :clap2: |
Serena is passed her prime, doesn't mean she is not still an incredibly good tennis player. I haven't heard of her having meltdowns before and this isn't her first ever defeat. Unless it becomes a pattern, we could at this point assume it was a bad day at the office for whatever reason. We have all had them.
