People need to get used to it not being on the telly so that when it returns it actually attracts an audience

It'd end up on ITV2 or ITVBe (I reckon the latter) but that's fine by me.

Strictly Jake 16-09-2018 03:58 PM

Oh i so hope itv pick it up they would look after it really well

BBDodge 16-09-2018 05:41 PM

The very first series of BBUK was produced by Bazal Prodcutions, a division of Endemol UK.

Bazal was founded by Peter Bazalgette.

And where is he now? The Chairman of ITV! So he would be buying back his original company, the company that brought Big Brother to the UK in the first place.

Possibly.

I hope it doesn't find itself in ITVBe though :/

GoldHeart 16-09-2018 06:11 PM

I can't see any of the ITV channels taking it , BB doesn't suit it though.

And they already have XF ,Love Island , IAC etc

annabelindabee 16-09-2018 06:15 PM

I'm not phyic... But I too can see it on ITV or ITV2...

Till march 2018 I already thought it was on this channel... I was shocked that it was on c5

Launch and Final on ITV1

Evictions and Highlight shows on ITV2

Bit on the Side and Live Feed on ITVBe

AProducer'sWetDream 16-09-2018 06:54 PM

I wouldn't actually mind it being on ITVBe. I feel like they would (or should) actually appreciate it more because it would be a big show for them and a huge opportunity for the channel to bring in new viewers to shows like TOWIE.

But ITVBE already has other shows , I'm really surprised that ITV have thrown their hat in the ring for BB . I never saw this coming , I still think it will be weird BB being on ITV of all channel's .

Tregard 16-09-2018 07:51 PM

If ITV owned Endemol, does that mean they'd own every global version of BB? Would ITV have the rights to air Big Brother US and Big Brother Canada?

Yeah, I was thinking this. Could it stop it going onto another channel or platform? Channels sometimes produce things for other channels?

bots 16-09-2018 10:53 PM

they will probably keep Endemol as a separate production company, then it can produce programs for anyone. The current ratings on C5 are pretty meaningless as its a completely different viewership on ITV. ITV could give it a very big boost if they chose to host it.

Also, doesn't emma do a lot of things on itv? They could probably bring her on with relative ease.

ITV produce University Challenge for the BBC, it's not that uncommon :)

Truth.

I can't help but feel like having BB literally just four days after CBB is an extremely poor marketing decision

:clap1: :clap1: great news, now get brainstorming for new ideas, anyway i think BB can already be saved with better hm's, and also a few more older hm's on the line up

BBDodge 17-09-2018 11:17 AM

That's still only speculation.

But at least we can hope. Now we need the current series to pick up some new viewers.

arista 17-09-2018 11:17 AM

Lets hope they buy EndemolShine group.
not cheap.

tbh they already had a endemol show in The Voice UK, The Voice Kids

joeysteele 17-09-2018 11:38 AM

Hopeful news.

bots 17-09-2018 11:47 AM

it's really not news i'm afraid. Firstly, they have made an approach to perhaps bid for the company. Even if they actually did bid and got the company, which is by no means certain, there is then no guarantee that they would choose to show BB in the UK. It's basically pie in the sky at the present moment.

James 17-09-2018 11:50 AM

I've merged the thread with the existing one. Pretty much the same story as yesterday.
