Why are Akeem's family getting dragged into this mess :bored: . His family are on holiday aren't they ?, clearly they have better things to do than threaten a housemate that Akeem lived with for a few weeks . Akeem's family don't even know Lewis  .

I also get the impression his family is either humble or a bit shy when it comes to the limelight. I saw his parents on launch night . We haven't even seen his wife . I think they're very private people .

Where's the evidence Akeem's family is involved??? I don't understand why his family is getting blamed. Trolls will be trolls and people's families shouldn't be brought into it .

Cherie 04-11-2018 03:19 PM

If he has actual evidence that Akeem's family did this then he should take it to the police, anyone can claim to be anyone online, so not sure how he would know unless it came from Akeems official account and that would be a really dumb move days from the final to a guy who is no threat to Akeem winning. reading those tweets it looks like a deranged fan.

People are 'very brave' behind a keyboard

Bet they wouldn't say it in real life.

The dark side of social media: some people can't keep perspective and work themselves up into a hate-frenzy.

Amy Jade 04-11-2018 03:43 PM

So it isn't Akeems family.

I saw that, really dreadful.

Interesting comment re Akeem's dad and what Akeem would do to his own dad. Was that aired?

I cant see Akeem saying that the only time I heard Akeem talk about his dad was when he was having a conversation in hot tub with Cameron and Tomasz and said sweared on his dead dad grave that he wasn't a gameplayer but other that he has never mentioned him.

There is a lot we don't see...so we don't know if he did or he didn't.

user104658 04-11-2018 04:11 PM

I remember Akeem saying that he "swears on his dead dad's grave" about something, which personally I found pretty distasteful (in any situation... Especially in a petty argument on telly) but that's it surely .

Same with Lewis - he's my fave but I freely admit he's a twat, but I'll never take it to that level of "ugh, he should die" or mocking his mental health.

**** gets so nasty.

It's been like this for a while now, the Big Brother fandom is toxic and one of the worst in television

From the obsessive stanning at the expense of any rationality (like these examples), to scouring the social media profiles of housemates for buzzwords to try and "expose" them (as if it has any relevance to what they'll be like in the house), to liking/disliking housemates based on who their favourite personally gets on with (as if we're living in the house), to the endless accusations of bullying which are beyond absurd, the incessant insults about people's appearances (as if it's Next Top Model) and casting aspersions on how good a parent people are, to taking this show so seriously that a few arguments/negative behaviour makes a housemate "scum", as well as the false pretense that supporting or voting for these kind of housemates is "rewarding" people, as if the gameshow that is Big Brother is also a morality competition or a charity (and when this show hasn't been culturally relevant in a decade), to the double standards and inconsistency of championing some housemates who act certain ways while hating others who do the same, or loving some production manipulation that benefits their favourites whilst hating that which does the opposite (but pretending this isn't the case), as well as moralising about aforementioned vitriolic insults whilst being guilty of using them, to even the minor things like the general taste in housemates falling off a cliff

I'm glad it's ending quite frankly, the fandom don't deserve it

Well many people do it when they are desperate to be believed. I think it was in the first week when I think Tomasz was calling him out for playing a game...

If I'm honest...it's been ugly on here for the last two years from the same old. This season I have been more 'vocal' because it sickens me with the personal attacks on housemates...

Vanessa 04-11-2018 04:25 PM

This is true. Lewis was talking about it on instagram recently. I think it's a disgrace. It's a tv show, fgs :fist:
