A part-time pilot and gas engineer was drafted in at the 11th hour to fly the plane carrying £15million Premier League footballer Emiliano Sala, the Daily Telegraph understands. Sources close to the investigation said officials in Nantes, north-west France, had been expecting an experienced pilot who regularly flew footballing figures around Europe. Instead, Dave Ibbotson, a gas engineer whose main flying activity was taking parachutists for jumps, was at the controls. (The Telegraph) Investigators will now inspect whether the pilot had the correct licence. (Evening Standard

It seems like 2019 is gonna be another depressing year then.
Hopefully the family get treated with respect over the next few days at the very least. |
The messages between Sala and the agent have been released and are heart breaking
He was expecting to be on a jet and was told he could take a fair bit of luggage with him. You could tell he wasn't sure about the flight |
His family and freinds and some fans are planning an independent search with boats
|
There has been calls from. A lot of people to resume the search.
The more people ask for more likely they will. Some of the most famous players are leading the calls for a search |
I would happily accept out government blowing funds into it
|
I've donated to the go fund me and I'd say any one who has a spare bit of money should.
|
The search is set to resume after 130k was raised in 2 days
|
130 thousand is a weeks wages to the top footballers.

Not wishing to be harsh, but any search now is a waste of time. If anything is going to be found it will be through natural means from debris being washed up on a beach or caught in fishing nets.

uh sorry but if it crashed into sea, then sometimes you don't find bodies, just body parts |
and i can know this because i watch a lot of that show air crash investigation, at aircrashes they don't usually recover all bodies, only what they can find from crashes in the sea
and sharks might've also eaten the remains (as horrible that sounds, but it could be a possibility) |
Search has be resumed with 2 fishing vessels sent out privately
