I can't remember being bored during Dark Knight, but I only watched it in the cinema and then round a mate's when it came out on DVD, so I'm a bit foggy.

I love all three films. I used to only think of The Dark Knight Rises as ''Meh'' but a recent rewatch has made me appreciate it more

Lucky you, I would've loved to have watched the Dark Knight at the cinema. I imagine it was epic and the audience went wild at the Joker scenes?

Modern DC is just garbage, I just couldn't believe what I was watching with most of them, they're like the cinematic representation of headaches. Well, Wonder Woman was okay, but the rest...

I love both the Burton and Nolan versions equally

DCEU Seems to only do well in their solo films- Man Of Steel, Wonder Woman and Aquaman have all been well received by critics and fans, whereas Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad and Justice League have all flopped

If Shazam! is also a success, then the DCEU should just stick to solo films

IMO there's nothing wrong with them doing Justice League films but they rushed into it to compete with Avengers.

Before Justice League there needed to be the solo Aquaman, at least one solo Batman, at least one solo Flash, and probably a second Wonder Woman. THEN Justice League probably late 2021.

The characters weren't well enough established as individuals for it to work as an ensemble.

Yeah that was their main problem- By the time Man Of Steel was released and began the DCEU franchise back in 2013, MCU had began phase 2 and their 7th film, Iron Man 3, was out. DCEU were trying to play catchup

They should have just done solo films for each of the JL Characters, and then brought them together rather than rushing

It was more ... rapt, than wild, he entranced us.

I dunno, I truly hated Man of Steel as well, it stung more because it was the first one. I legitimately had to stop it for breaks several times, I'm glad I didn't see that motherfucker in cinemas.

I said Wonder Woman was okay upthread - I take that back, it's good. Even outside of the DCEU, it is good.

I watched Man of Steel at the cinema and enjoyed it

If I had to rank the DCEU films

1. Aquaman
2. Man Of Steel
3. Wonder Woman
4. Batman v Superman
5. Justice League
6. Suicide Squad

What's your top 5 MCU films?

To each their own! I don't like the Transformers movies either to be fair, I see them as similar.

I would say
- Spider-Man: Homecoming
- Thor Ragnarok
- Ant Man
- Civil War
- Infinity War

Surprised you put Justice League that high- it was a disappointment for me

First Transformers film was fantastic. While ROTF and DOTM weren't as good, I still enjoy them. They're just popcorn entertainment flicks for me

My top 5 MCU Films are

1. Infinity War
2. Civil War
3. Thor: Ragnarok
4. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
5. Black Panther

Really? I thought BVS was great, well the Ultimate edition DVD at least

I enjoyed Suicide Squad the first time i'd watched it at the cinema, but it hasn't aged well

Yeah I still very much enjoy the extended BvS. The cinema cut was a headache though and I think that's all a lot of people remember... the editing was awful, it NEEDED the extra runtime that it had on home release to be a coherent film, but I get why they couldn't have a 3.5 hour marathon in cinemas. Although I have heard that End Game might be hitting the 3h mark which I personally am buzzing about :joker:.

The only overall problems for me were the downright irredeemable "Martha" scene. It is DUMB, they should have gone another way with it, left the name out of it and just had Supes saying "plz if you kill me you have to save my mother" and it would be otherwise the same scene (Batman realises that Superman isn't just this super powerful alien threat, but also a regular man with a family). Making it about their mums having the same name falls so flat :joker:.

Also ... sigh... Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. It was still a bad call, in characterisation and casting. He would have made a ****ing excellent Riddler playing it exactly the same. Luthor, they should have made a charismatic smiling-sociopath like Smallville Lex.

The film otherwise flows well (extended) and is stunning .

Starbuck would've been an awesome pick.

Dark Knight got me into the Batman franchise.

The Joker and Two-Face.:flutter:
