Well Gove certainly did so to Boris Johnson last time.

However all leadership elections have to involve some unpleasant aspects between candidates.
It can't be helped.
Sadly it's part of the nastier side of politics, which is just unfortunately getting nastier.

I liked neither left last time in the Conservative leadership but that Andrea Leadsom made a shocking play against Theresa May, as to Theresa May not being a Mother.

Spiteful woman.

Although possibly one of the most bizarre contests was when Ed Miliband chose to run against his Brother David.

I still would hope as I don't dislike the Conservative Party, they avoid a main frontrunner.

I wish some in the Party would encourage Rory Stewart for instance to stand.
Corbyn isn't likely to be there after this next election in another.

So in my own view.
With someone like Rory Stewart and a new Labour leader, it may be possible to take the ice chill and unnecessary nastiness out of politics.

it would be good if he became the new leader.

After the shameful, embarrassing mess of the last few years I think we all (and the country as an entity on the world stage) need for ALL of the current big names and faces to **** off to the back and shut their mouthes, and for new, respectable people to come to the front of politics. Realistically - do people in Britain have much respect left for the "big name" politicians after all of this? In either Conservative or Labour? It's been such a joke that it seems impossible for Boris or Gove or Smogg OR Corbyn etc. to do anything other than continue the pantomime.

The world is watching and we need to break the whole system down and bring some sensible, rational adults to the front line of politics if we ever want to be taken seriously again.

I don't disagree with you TS, the current bunch of mp's are disgraceful representatives of the people. There may be the odd good one in there but they are few. We need a sea change in politics where our mp's are actually there to represent ALL of us, not just their own self interest and narrow agenda. The problem is that people are just so fed up now, that we are extremely vulnerable to radicals getting in if another election were held at this point. Our democracy and future is at breaking point

I like him too.
But I'm afraid he may be too sensible for tories.
