In 20 years time, Bey will be remembered as the chick of our generation for her best stuff

It doesn't. But that era is not iconic?

Motha D raved about Bey, she just said she isn't an icon as of now

This is exactly what the Beyhive have done, blew it up and starting attacking Dionne when she was making a reasoned statement

you CAUSED this!

I wasn't attacking her statement, I was just disagreeing with people who in the thread have stated Beyonce was overrated

Lots of singers have hits. Don't make them iconic sweetie.

Is Beyonce synonymous with a period of time/era? No. Bye. :hee:

yes the 00s?

I am pretty resolute that Beyonce will be looked back on as bigger than Whitney, tbh.

Half of Whitney's fame is because of how tinged it was by her personal struggles, let's be real. Musically, she didn't have a ridiculous number of hits like Madonna/Elvis/MJ.

Quality not Quantity though.

Whitney never released a bad song

...Dionne didn’t really ‘come for’ Beyonce did she...I mean she’s very complimentary and obviously a huge admirer of her talent...she’s just saying that in her opinion Beyonce is still travelling down the road of ‘iconic’ and hasn’t reached it yet...and that is true because Beyonce still has so much talent to offer the music world ...if it’s looked back on some of those artists mentioned as being iconic now, which they are....they wouldn’t have been termed as that at the time and if compared to Beyonce at the same stage in her career...

Ammi 25-05-2019 05:40 AM

...I wonder who Dionne would ideally want to play her in a life story movie or show....hmmmm I’m thinking Beyonce...an icon of now playing an icon of then...
