The only time I did see a slight issue was two drag queens scrapping, scratching and slapping and pulling each others wigs...still not sure if that was a 'show' or random  So yeah, been going to gay bars forever, and never anywhere near as much trouble as in 'other' bars. Don't even seem to get those idiots who treat the bar staff like ****e either..

There was a gay goth couple at my high school who used to knock the **** out of each other at parties for fun. Literally bleeding knuckles and faces and laughing the whole time. But I think that was probably more of a goth thing than a gay thing. And also it was probably foreplay.

great! first though we have to ban heterosexual marriage for this to happen! :)

It speaks tomes about how fragile a person must be to look at Pride and think 'Why don't I get a festival?!'

I've been with both genders and I know the difference between walking down the street holding hands with a woman and doing the same with a man. I've never feared for my safety because of someone thinking I was straight but I've certainly feared for my safety when I've been out with a man. As it was said in the OP, Pride is meant to be about celebrating sexual identities that has seen people who identify as not being straight being targetted by the law and/or killed by bigots. It's a celebration of how far we've come.

I've never struggled with either my identity of fear of reprisal from an angry bigoted randomer in the street when I've been in a relationship with a woman. Straight people aren't made to feel like they have to hide for fear of being ostracised or targetted and they never will so the idea of a straight pride festival is just a perversion of what Pride is and it's just an excuse for straight people to undermine the struggle of the LGBT by falsely equating their non-existent struggle with their sexuality to that of a people who are still oppressed by others today.

Be an ally, don't envy what you don't have because you're not oppressed.

I would happily take a blow job in public as well...so I need an excuse.

Gay Pride is basically a joke these days, so why not?

Elliot 06-06-2019 04:44 AM

It’ll probably be hella depressing anyway

Alf 06-06-2019 05:00 AM

You all do realise that this is just a troll joke?

Why don't some people have a sense of humour anymore?

Withano 06-06-2019 05:44 AM

Probably full of closet-cases

Yes... I think most people have responded to this in humour and I think a lot of the responses have been made in humour. Not all of them though.

Northern Monkey 06-06-2019 09:30 AM

Well.....without straights there’d be no gays.Be proud.

Honestly, I know it’s just a joke event but I don’t see why so many people are up in arms about it.
Even if it was real, what’s the harm in letting them do it?
I’m sure gays would be welcome too.

Anyway parades are gay as hell.

Vicky. 06-06-2019 09:41 AM

Hmm I didn't originally respond in humour. And even if this is a 'joke' or whatever, my resonses still stand to the many straights who do actually seem to think there should be straight pride and say so each time gay pride is mentioned. Who think its somehow proof of opression that people laugh at the idea of straight pride and like it to the likes of a 'white lives matter' movement, which would be..well unneeded and rather inflammatory.

I kind of see both sides of this being bi, and I can tell you..its extremely different as dezzy said, walking around holing hands with a girlfriend than it is with a boyfriend. Noone bats an eye when its a bloke. Now, I will admit we only got actual physical abuse once in over a year (a lot of 'lezzer' sneers and that, which I gues count as abuse but didn't escalate so are easily ignored) which is 'good' the over the top sexual comments from blokes was just ****ing gross, the way they seemed to think that just because 2 women were together that meant we were doing it for THEIR enjoyment  and they seemed to think they had even more 'right' than usual to grope and stuff. Once we were actually physically attacked by a group of women, but fairly 'luckily' we could both stand our own pretty well so nothing really came of that. From what friends tell me, and what I read though, men together have a very hard time of it in general if they do anything to show they are actually together, generally if they just walk about its fine as other men assume friends, but holding hands, any affection, anything, and the abuse starts. It seems women DO get the abuse too, but it tends to depend on if they are feminine or butch. Which yet again is ****ing wrong.

Went off on a slight tangent there tbh, but..while it might be trolling, a joke, whatever, its actually a topic that seems to crop up a hell of a lot in seriousness, so yeah. Buzzkill Vicky answering seriously :p

Probably because you don't "belong" to a man

Well yeah that will be it. You know when the creeps are hitting on you, and nothing you say will stop the slobbering, then your male partner comes over and they apologize to HIM. Or how sometimes the only way to get office perv to stop touching you is mention your husband. Ugh, its so medieval really
