I dont know anything about that.

And honestly members moan when suggestions threads end up closed, well posts like that are normally the start of them going downhill, suggestions threads aren't a place to air problems with your personal infractions or bans, private messages are for stuff like that.

Wasn't there something like this years ago but for bans.

The ban thread yes, the recent user bans replaced that

In all honesty the only good I can see this doing is that it might discourage people from breaking rules so they don't have their dirty laundry aired all around the forum, but at what cost? Like especially after time and after people change, there's always gonna be that infractions thread detailing all the bad things they've done that can be used against them (i.e. "I'm NICE!!!" followed up by "well if you're so nice why did you slutshame RileyH in 2018 :/")

Plus it kinda opens up a bit of criticism to the mods because there's always gonna be a blurred line with "baiting" in which it can always be argued something isn't baity which just contributes more to "mods are biased!!!"

Like I think it's a good idea in theory but it does sort of compromise privacy and... for what? Even if it did discourage people from breaking rules, there'd still be some people who'd do it anyway because they couldn't care if there's a post on the forum describing their rule-breaking briefly that would eventually get buried posts upon posts (while also all other infractions being accessible to those who don't want them public)

tl;dr i'd be up for it but it doesn't seem practical and it'd probably cause more issues than problems it could potentially solve

Two vicious attacks in one night :(

Mods and admin do a thankless job, people need to realise this is not Facebook and you can’t have it exclusively for you and your friends.

There is no agenda with the mods or admin if you are getting infractions you are breaking the rules plain and simple.

I used to get infractions and bans all the time I still do get the odd infraction but I’ve learned to let things go and stop taking everything to heart.

People like to be nosey

Beso 17-06-2019 07:58 PM

Ant has a great theory there to be fair.....imagine LTs dirty laundry after heaving his clubs and 50 bottles of scotch round a golf course all day...after a bacon roll....ewwww.

Quick question Josy. ...what if a mod blurts out in a busy thread who was reporting posts.....how would that be dealt with?

Mods don't get infractions... they are above the rules

We are humans and do make mistakes so sometimes post things in error or not realising in the heat of the moment that it shouldn't have been posted

None of us are above the rules, if a mod/admin break a rule it gets discussed in admin if needed

And mods can be infracted, I've infracted Vicky which I'm sure she will confirm [emoji23]

You don't see a point in a suggestion section if every request members make is not added? And most members wanting it..is not a reason to add stuff, sorry but its just not. Stuff does get added from here though, maybe not as much stuff as people would like, but to deny any requests are ever granted is daft really. This definitely wont be added though.

Nor will getting personal replies to reports made..do you lot not realise how much extra work that would be? I mean, on days where we have more baiting and arguing than usual, we can get literally hundreds of reports. And we do have a few members who report like..hourly at times D:

Vicky. 17-06-2019 09:23 PM

Yes, Josy has infracted me before

Hands up, this was me of course.

I did that because said person who reported was baiting in the thread saying all the people on the opposing side of the argument would have red hot fingers from the endless reports, or something like that. While it turned out they (and one other..who was not saying stuff like that so was left anon as per) were the only ones who had actually reported. I saw this as massively hypocritical, and yes, called it out. Whats the point in taking the piss saying other members are reporting nonestop, when its actually you doing that? Not my most professional moment, but..it was a ridiculous situation tbh. And one I will gladly take a bollocking for as I know I shouldn't have, but couldn't not do it, in the moment.

There is nothing wrong with using the report button, you will get trigger fingers from time to Time but as a whole is an important part of policing the forum.

There is no shame in using it as genuine reports get acted upon and false ones get ignored.
