Something else I never knew before is that most Americans drive automatic gearbox cars whereas here most cars are manual (stick-shift).

Also America doesn't have many roundabouts and when they do they are usually one lane. We have loads and have to deal with ones like this...

when we went to the States you literally could not hire a manual car, they were all automatic

Oh damn, I've never drove stick shift and a lot of people dread having to drive manually with stick shift (I remember recently my boss was talking to the company's driver about the company getting a manual car and he was worried about getting used to it lol). Yeah they're not that common either. I guess I get the driving test panic over there even more now then

And Oh My GOD what is that circular lane(s) roundabout??? :laugh2: Never seen anything like it lmaooo

Not if you want to travel and drive abroad? I believe you cant drive manual on a auto driving licence,

Also Auto cars are much more expensive over here

Glenn. 02-09-2019 05:18 PM

Why would you want to drive a manual if you can only drive automatic?

Kazanne 02-09-2019 05:18 PM

I drove an automatic when I lived in the US, I loved it, so much easier aswell even in the streets of New York, traffic seems to run more smoothly there aswell, roads are much wider and traffic lights overhead.

Because a lot of countries use mostly Manual and if you want Auto you have to pay a lot more

AnnieK 02-09-2019 05:26 PM

Yeah driving in the States is a lot different to here plus they don't think that much about driving long distances and automatics make that a much more comfortable journey.

Where I lived they had 4 way stops instead of roundabouts, but it was a bit if a free for all lol.

I drove both auto and manual stick there

..oi, it’s no different from having an instructor beside you...there is nothing that you’re going to do that you don’t absolutely know how to...just totally focus on the instruction being given and completing each task to move onto the next one...don’t let those nerves do the driving for you, Kizzy...you know how to take charge over that test route.....

AnnieK 04-09-2019 08:37 AM

Good luck Kizzy
