I agree that it's strange.

We lost Dev in this series and we didn't see this uproar from the fans despite being the best dancer so far that's gone.

This series is very unpredictable. Anyone who scores less is at risk. If the others score a lot more.

they do on lets dance Germany, bringing back the week before eliminated couple :)

and the one they brought back ended up becoming 3rd in the final

It depends on DWTS I think. In the past when people have quit they have been replaced by family members but it's been before the first show.

They offered an eliminated person their place back once (Willa Ford) when somebody quit once too.
