That’s not really the point though is it. This thread’s about which one’s actually better between the two. Not which is more renowned by the lay public.

People apply to Oxford for STEM courses because they know they’ll be rejected at Cambridge.

I mean, that might be a reason for some people (tactical applying), but is it not possible people prefer Oxford because that's where they'd rather live for three years (and maybe more)? Or any other factor? :suspect:
