I live right across from a river, thankfully the banks were built up and reinforced last year, hopefully it holds out

Crimson Dynamo 16-02-2020 06:28 PM

really blowing a full gale here now

There are so, so many roads flooded around here near Wrexham, North Wales. Where I am is quite lucky as we're quite high up from the river but nearby are very low (very hilly area, "valleys").

Bangor on Dee's huge racecourse is practically a lake and Llangollen's river is almost flowing into the town - I don't remember seeing it that high ever. And it's STILL pouring down with very strong winds... :skull:

Johnson PM will not be going to Wales.
Of course Wales has its own Power,
who have no funding to help?

The Wye at Hereford is now at 6.1m the highest in recorded history. Equalling the flood in 1795 which was measured at 20ft

also 1 dead here in my country because of the storm, a 19 year old girl who had crashed her car at side of the motorway due to the incredibly heavy winds :( she had been immediately brought to hospital but succumbed to her injuries

saw it on our RTL breakfast news this morning

I had some strong winds and heavy rain but no damage at all. Gutted for people who've been flooded out... again.

Ellen? Devastating! I put my money on it being Else.

Alf 18-02-2020 10:27 AM

Helen is a name that starts with an H. That's proper Helen, not fake Ellen
