Leipzig have gone from 5th division to title challengers in ten years, not sure that constitutes building yourself up over a long time

Before this I thought City had done a good job actually investing a lot in infrastructure, their academy and in their women's team. They have actually nurtured a lot of young talent and there's plenty of players that have pretty much been made by City

More hopeful of a City relegation giving 18th place a reprieve :fc:

My main point was that it's possible to build a football club up the right way without breaking all the rules. The model of good young players, sell ons, then rinse and repeat is the best way to do it, as is the Leipzig and Dortmund models.

I always liked city, but the crazy conspiracy theories over the last 2 years, often indulged by Pep himself is a bridge too far.

Anything else going to happen to us?!

I heard they will lose any titles won in the offending 4 seasons ..
Resulting in Liverpool winning their first premier title under Brendon ..

I wouldn't take it personally, Football fans like to see a top team possibly about to fall (unless it's their team of course) tbh I am probably guilty of this aspect within the Football fandom too.

But if Liverpool go and win the next 3 or 4 Premier League titles, I'm willing to bet that the neutrals would be rooting for Man City to stop them, or any team to stop them.

But yeah people are underestimating how many fans that you guys actually have.

speaking as a Man U supporter, i think the way city were "investigated" was atrocious. I don't see the ban being upheld in appeal, but if it is, it will be football that suffers

Ultimately its the fans who suffer too.

C'mon, they've been watching a club that's cheated their way to the top of the game, and now they refuse to accept that cheating is wrong. They've been throwing claims around about other clubs all season; and I'll especially enjoy the taintedtitle hashtag for the next couple of years

Bad news for City that their next game after this shaming is against the much improved West Ham - losing at home on Weds will really start the spiral downwards. :(

I just read that article, and I still don't understand what they've done wrong. Can someone explain to me, in normal people terms, what they've done?

My brother told me it was something like them lying about how much money they were making through sponsors etc so that they could spend more money. In the interests of fair play you're supposed to spend earned money rather than the rich owners money

They have internal emails supporting this from employees talking about how much the sponsors were providing and how much of the deal was being paid by their owner.

This kind of craziness has been going on for 2 years. Everything is a conspiracy to them.

Alf 17-02-2020 12:19 PM

Bloody money, whether you've got too much or nothing at all, it always causes problems.

It was better when football was played on a field of grass rather than a boardroom.

Wasn't there a Liverpool forum that was just the same and always going into meltdowns a few years back.

I remember Locke on here saying the account that reported on it was his favourite account. :hehe:

RAWK I think.

Rawk is just an OTT fanboy kind of thing. Complete loons and always a funny read, but nothing approaching the conspiracy theories on blue moon.

If any Liverpool manager came out with a rawk conspiracy theory the way pep promoted the blue moon Scudamore one, your comparison may have proved more accurate.
