Not that relevant as she didn't stay on, she resigned.

Cummings and Dr Calderwood aren't really comparable tbh. In either case we have to ask - where are they more useful? Resigning or keeping their post?

Calderwood would surely have been more useful if he kept her role, especially when there's a global pandemic; Cummings isn't so important.

That was my thinking at the time, but she did end up resigning regardless. Cummings on the other hand is going nowhere, despite his role being.......? Completely unknown tbqfh, suspicious, and sinister. A snake sat on Boris Johnson's shoulder hissing in his ear, with a completely undisclosed purpose, but we just have to accept it like it isn't right there in our faces. Really mad times.

Cummings is obviously a "good" adviser, as I'm pretty sure he came up with the snappy slogans and whatnot ... but the next election is over four years away. He could easily be fired/resign now and slide back in later...

Frankly, principles and their hypocrisies aside I can't really blame Cummings or Calderwood for wanting to get away from the cities :joker: If someone I knew personally did it I'd say "ohhh you're not meant to do that!!" but I wouldn't really care.
edit: "not care" isn't really the right words,I don't want people bring city corona down here! But I'd understand. And avoid them.

But again, I don't know any government advisers or medics :joker:

If they were seemingly healthy, sure - Cummings had tested positive for Covid! There wasn't just a "risk" that he could spread it... he knew for a verified fact that he had it :umm2:.

He said yesterday neither he or his wife were tested, what he did know was Boris, Hancock, Whitty etc had it

But he travelled there to protect his son because of the worry they would both get ill, and wanted to test his eyesight because he thought it had been affected by Covid. he can't even get his own story to synch.

The best bit is LT going back and changing the spelling of reckless in a cummings-esque fashion. I quoted his original post a few posts up.

Thankfully boris has Britons best interests at heart.

They both admitted that what she had done was wrong and stupid and she apologised profusely - Sturgeon wanted her to stay on because we were in the midst of a pandemic and she felt that the disruption would be bad for the country.

I personally would NOT be calling for any resignations IF Cummings had just ****ing admitted that he was being a bit selfish and acted outside the rules, admitted that it was going directly against the government lockdown guidelines, and gave a genuine apology. I know that wouldn't be enough for a lot of people but for me, that would be it. A "meh, whatever" after that. But no it's been utterly ridiculous lie after lie, dumb fairytales about his eyesight that we're supposed to believe, and an attempt to rewrite history to say that the rules were never what we thought they were. That is the problem here. It's not that he went on a drive or toddled off out to a castle for his wife's birthday. It's that the elected government of this country is happy to treat their voters, and the whole public, like unfathomably gullible idiots. It's a lack of respect that's verging on contempt. It shows such a willingness to lie and twist things to suit themselves that every single citizen of this country should be worried about it.
