The one mixed review I’ve seen said too actiony (they all say there’s more of an action element than 7, and a plot history thing mentions that Chris has been giving Ethan military training)) but that’s not a negative for me to be honest, I found the balance in 7 a bit too “hide and seeky” for my liking, Resi always had big gunz. It made it feel too much like a different game series.

the ps 4 version is available for download now, but not the PS5 version :fist:

I was hoping Shopto would deliver today, but I got an email from them saying it would be tomorrow due to restrictions.

All the horror based RE games eventually become action-y, RE7 was pretty much the only one that didn't. Things don't tend to scare you that much when you've got a shotgun, a bazooka, automatic weapons and enough of an ammo stockpile to use them freely.

I have heard that there's supposed to be one extremely scary part though, which I'm interested in seeing as, judging from what Capcom has said about her, I think it's probably gonna have a lot to do with the lady with the creepy doll.

I have unlimited 4g and tethering which is fine fire work thankfully but downloading a 50gig+ game might be asking a bit much...

I had this problem too with my net kept cutting off online games

Are you guys on Virgin Media by any chance? I've had similar issues and VM had to replace the router a few times in the past.

I got rid of Sky and switched to Plusnet and it’s been utter garbage. For a start they only give me 32mb (minimum guaranteed 29) saying the line can’t do more, when I was getting a solid 44mb (minimum 35) for 3 years with Sky. And now it’s just totally packed in. I suspect it is the router because it’s cheap trash and they couldn’t find a fault with the line. I’d buy a decent 3rd party one (because at least, unlike Sky, they do let you use your own router) but I’m hesitant in case that’s not the issue. If they end up sending me a new router and it fixes it, I’ll probably upgrade to a better one.

Honestly wish I hadn’t switched... Sky was a rip-off because I don’t use telly but I can count on one hand the number of brief connection issues I had in 3 years... and never a major issue like this . The wireless signal was abysmal but bad wireless is better than bad internet full stop!

downloading .... .... .... ... ... ... ...

I've had it delivered but it's too bright out to enjoy it atm, gonna give it an hour or two, I think.

liking it so far

Tom4784 07-05-2021 07:23 PM

I've got into the castle and met the big lady herself. I'm really loving it so far, It's not been scary at all really, I felt a bit nervous with the lycans at the beginning but so far it's not really put me on edge like RE2R or RE7 did.

I love the settings though, and the story seems so godamn interesting at the moment. I can see this being a Top 3 RE game if the game remains as good as the opening is.

Tom4784 08-05-2021 05:28 PM

Finished with the castle, it was pretty iconic.

What a redemption the Resi series has gone through following the dreadful Resi 6, 7 and 8 feel like instant classics and the REmakes have felt pretty great too

Tom4784 08-05-2021 06:33 PM

Honestly, I think 8 will sit behind RE2R and REmake as my top three RE games. I ****ing love this game.

Scarlett. 08-05-2021 07:22 PM

It's a beautiful mix of RE3.5, RE4 and RE7, it's so good so far

Personally I'd say 6 was a bit of a "blip", I loved RE5 despite its flaws, they just took it too far with 6. I mean yeah it had its issues - a big one being that having a constant companion ALWAYS makes a game distinctly un-scary ... I guess similar to how walking down a country lane in the pitch dark isn't that scary with a friend but ****-your-pants terrifying alone :umm2:. Being armed like Duke Nukem didn't exactly add to the tension also. It was a bit goofy but it was still tonnes of fun IMO. Resi 6 was just over-long and ... not really fun at all.

Tom4784 09-05-2021 02:23 PM

Resi 5 is my least favourite RE game. It's decent enough with a friend but aggravating alone and it just didn't feel like RE at all. RE6 has the benefit of having some good moments to it, but I found RE5 to be a bland experience from beginning to end.

Tom4784 09-05-2021 05:34 PM

House Beneviento was enough to turn my hair grey.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 15-05-2021 08:55 PM

What difficulty are y’all playing on

I started on hardcore then ended up starting a new game on standard coz i couldn’t get past the bit with all the dog men and the giant dog man THEN i found out that you’re not even supposed to fight them you just have to stay alive for a certain amount of time until you get hit by an arrow

Like i had no idea so idk whether to restart on hardcore what do we think ladies

Tom4784 15-05-2021 09:30 PM

I played on Standard at first, it's pretty easy, you barely have to keep watch of your ammo beyond the first few enemy encounters.

I also completed it the other day. It's a top 3 RE game easily. It only comes third to RE2R and REmake for me.

I refuse to believe that it's more iconic than RE4.

Scarlett. 15-05-2021 10:49 PM

It's pretty damn amazing.

I played on Normal

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 15-05-2021 10:59 PM

I started again on hardcore just coz it doesn’t feel like fun on standard like there’s no challenge

RE4 is one of the greatest action games of all time... But it's not what I look for in an RE game. Village does a better job of balancing traditional RE gameplay with a more action-y style.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 16-05-2021 08:28 PM

I started again on hardcore and i’m in’t castle now

That puzzle where you had to rotate the statues and the wall said something like “woman is blind to man’s advances” or some shit.. girl i could not make sense of that so i just kept rotating shit until somn clicked
