I simply cannot stand her.
I've never liked her.

You cannot hold an inquiry then throw out it's findings.
The only conclusion has to be this PM is willing to.be totally soft on bullies and bullying.
For as long as she remains in post, there's no other conclusion to make as to Johnson.

I don't and never would support any bullying or a bully.
If she had a tenth of an ounce of decency, she'd resign.

How do you explain the member of staff who was driven to two suicide attempts in Patel's name? I'm sorry, LT, but I think this more serious than upsetting a few snowflakes.

...the ministerial code is there for a reason.... “There must be no bullying and no harassment.”...that would be obvious and hoped for in any work place ....the findings were that the code was broken and that bullying did occur by Priti Patel...and yet an apology was accepted...it mocks their own system as well as those bullied when they should have felt and been protected....

bots 21-11-2020 07:12 AM

i view this like a final written warning. If her character is as it seems to be, it won't be long until she does it again, and this time people will record her doing it and it will be made publicly available. It's a matter of time

Just totally agree again.

An apology was the most basic thing she had to do.
It doesn't stop there however.
If you've done wrong in your place of work and found to have done so.

Of course you will apologise once caught out.
It doesn't change the fact of other action taken against you however.

She should have resigned or been sacked.

She lost her last post for deceiving and lying to her then PM Theresa May.
This is likely a far worse incident than that.

Both within 3 years of each other too.

I’m just pointing out that people are only wanting her sacked because she’s Tory. When corbyn was under scrutiny for his actions and had returned to the party everyone on here was happy and glad he had returned to the party. Whereas everyone is wanting Priti sacked

Okay so you're defending bullying that drove someone to attempt suicide because the bully happens to be in a party you support, got it.

Corbyn is an irrelevant flop, we're talking about your endorsing bullying by supporting a vicious bully.

Tom4784 21-11-2020 01:33 PM

Imagine being so bereft of moral fibre or empathy that you brand people who are outraged about bullying that has led to suicide attempts snowflakes.

The tory party is a cult.

If you've got a counterpoint say it. Saying 'no it isn't', won't cut it.

People support the Tories no matter what, people vote against their own interests just to dance to Boris' tune, you've got people like LT branding people snowflakes in defense of a bully that drove someone to attempt suicide. I'm guessing a tory could stab someone in the face in public and as long as it was someone 'on the other side', tory supporters would cheer it on. It's a cult.

How ridiculous.

Stating tories would celebrate someone being stabbed in the face is incredibly stupid of you to say - and if that’s your reasoning for you likening the Tory party to a cult then that is incredibly weak

How ridiculous to ask for a counter point when you are saying ridiculous and stupid sweeping statements, there is no need for a Counter point. Quoting your post in itself is a counterpoint in itself because it just highlights the unbacked up statements and ridiculous sweeping statements which are laughable

Honestly, you're proof of what I'm saying is true.

If you heard about someone being bullied to the point of suicide, would you defend the bully? Normally, probably not, but because Priti Patel is a tory, you're jumping to her defense out of party loyalty. You're responding to someone's suicide attempt by bringing up Corbyn, who has no relevance to this at all, to deflect.

You're perfectly okay with Priti Patel bullying someone to the point of suicide because she's a tory. You've not condemned her, you've not acknowledged what she's done, you've just leapt to her defense in the face of compelling evidence that she is a vicious bully.

People make mistakes, and I imagine a large proportion of it is a culture thing.

A manager from India has seconded over to our workforce and she shouts at the team when things aren’t done - yes it’s not ideal, but she is not bullying us, it’s just how the company works in India and she has been taught that way - it’s the norm to get results, and she said corporate India works that way. She has no ill intentions and culturally that is what her workforce is like. She was shocked when we mentioned that isn’t how we work in the U.K.
She has absolutely no ill intent and is just trying to get the team to work hard and reach our goals, she was just bought up this way. Some people could say bullying but the majority of us know she has no ill will it malice and she just needs to adjust.

Priti comes from an Indian family and I reckon she is similar and has been bought up with a mix of Indian and U.K. culture. I doubt she means any harm which is why I don’t believe she is bullying. The U.K. as a whole are very sensitive. A large part of these bullying claims I would bet are due to just simple cultural differences and I reckon some people under Priti are not able to deal with other cultures and are quick to shout bully when really they need to learn people from different ethnicities will have been bought up with different cultures.

Just like you defending some members of BLM then when they're clearly in the wrong with their looting, destruction and destroying others livelihoods. They can't do wrong, right? It's all the rights fault, right? That would imply, going by your outlook that BLM is a cult?! Obviously it's not, just like being in favour of the Tory party doesn't make you a cult member!

People are entitled to defend her, doesn't make them a part of a cult! I mean she's obviously a cold hearted bitch, a ruthless woman lacking any real kind of empathy high up in the tory party, nothing new.

You should consider why you hate BLM so much to bring it up in every topic you can, it's a bit strange. BLM has nothing to do with this topic, and I don't blindly defend them. Stick to the topic, I know you're desperate to get one up on me at any cost but deflection will not work.

People are entitled to defend her, and I'm entitled to point out how flawed that is by suggesting they are only doing so because she's a tory and their sense of morality is clouded and overwritten by party loyalty. That is how opinions work, do you need me to explain, yet again, the ins and outs of what is an isn't an opinion? Because you're not arguing against what I'm saying, you're trying to argue against me saying it.

Nice downplaying of what she's done though. I don't see much acknowledgement of her bullying in this post, just acceptance that she is who she is because of her job. That's not condemnation, that's excusing her.

So now you're blaming indian culture for her being a bully and that people are just being 'very sensitive', tell that to the person who nearly killed themselves over what she did to them. Not only are you defending bullying, you're also making racist sweeping statements about a whole country just to defend one bully.

You lack empathy and the ability to see the forest for the trees, Priti Patel is a tory and you'll defend her to the death regardless of what she's done.

Well firstly I would need to see the claims and evidence (I do not see any compelling evidence that Priti acted maliciously), and secondly determine what actually occurred. It may just be Priti’s management style - having come from India, a county with an extremely strict management style (shouting is the norm here) where people are held accountable if work is not complete. Yes it may be difficult to work under to but bully is a strong word

These claims may be completely exaggerated - so many people complain about their bosses to HR because they’re not performing well and therefore do not get rewarded whilst other colleagues do causing resentment and bitterness

I’m not blaming Indian culture - she is Indian she will have been bought up with Indian culture... Indian workforce culture is very strict, and involves a lot of shouting at management level as a way to encourage the team to work hard. They have absolutely no malice - it’s the way the majority of them have been bought Up. It’s a cultural difference, Priti was probably extremely shocked that some of her staff were even upset

I know as my work consists of about 40% Indian people..

I don't hate BLM and have never claimed to have hated it. If you call pointing out flaws 'hate' then as you often say, you're entitled to be wrong :)

Still doesn't make the Tory party and it's supporters a 'cult' .

By calling her a cold hearted bitch im downplaying her behaviour? Ok

I love it when people try to use my words against me, it never works because they don't understand the concept of context.

You're bringing up BLM in a thread completely unrelated to BLM, that says a lot.

Accepting bullying when people probably wouldn't normally on the grounds of the bully being a tory and then jumping to her defense to the point that, citing examples in this thread, that people are 'snowflakes' 'overly sensitive' and that her bullying is just basically 'indian culture' says it all really. If people will defend a person in power regardless of their actions then that is cultish behaviour. Don't like it, argue against it. You're still just saying 'lol, it's not!' and that won't get you anywhere.

You called her that and then basically said that it's 'nothing new' which is basically acceptance of the situation. Why can you call her a bitch so easily, yet sidestep acknowledging that she is a bully that almost drove someone to suicide?
