The racist, terrorist hugger Corbyn destroyed the Labour party and it will take a very charismatic and competent leader to ever repair the damage he did. His cheerleaders have only themselves to blame.

Utter tripe.

Labour went down to a disastrous defeat too in ,2015 under Miliband.
When Corbyn was nothing but a backbencher.

The problem started to begin when Miliband stood side by side with Cameron on Scottish independence issue.

Labour wiped out to only 1 seat in Milibands 2015 election in Scotland.

Things have got worse since although Corbyn rescued a bit and pulled it back in 2017 briefly.

The problems had been setting in years before Corbyn's leadership however.

jet 07-05-2021 11:54 AM

The right leader could have rescued the party, instead Corbyn's leadership sounded the death knell.
A racist, terrorist lover, inept old commie. What a disaster.

Yes Corbyn Over Promised
failed at the Last General Election Dec 2019
pre-covid.

The public continue to bow to Murdoch and their tory overlords. Spineless.

Livia 07-05-2021 12:13 PM

The noisy minority will cover this loss with name-calling and hateful language. The quiet majority will just keep voting for what they think is right.

bots 07-05-2021 12:15 PM

the public realise that the labour party has shifted in it's culture and it just doesn't resonate with them anymore. I tend to agree with Joey, this transformation has happened over a long time period and I think the nightmare that was brexit just hit the nail on the head. When things like this happen it requires fundamental change. Personally, I think labour is now too broad a church, it needs to split up where people can go with their preferred ideology without having to compromise or fight with themselves. Once that happens, an electable party will emerge

The 'quiet majority' will vote however they're told. This nation lost it's spine, because it doesn't need one to kiss the tories' feet.

Alf 07-05-2021 12:39 PM

The tories basically put us all under house arrest for the past year and the opposition was still humiliated. How embarrassing.

Tom4784 07-05-2021 12:45 PM

Just goes to show how deeply the public's tongue is wedged up Boris' arse really.

Maybe they need to get their own house in order first, before they park all the blame at their opponents feet.

The tories are obviously doing things better than Labour are? They're monstering them at the polling station.

Jet this is absolute nonsense. I remember you telling us that Boris was the man to protect NI and the GFA, and how is that working out? You had no evidence then, and you have no evidence now.

Blaming Corbyn for losing a seat that was held twice under is ladership shows how the pervasive the rw press is.

Not well. But that doesn't make Corbyn any less of a a racist, terrorist lover, inept old commie.

This topic isn't about me, drop the personal insults.

Tom4784 07-05-2021 01:03 PM

Are people still defending the tory government's failures by bleating on about a man who is no longer in power and never came close to Downing Street in the first place?

This is why we are a nation of bootlickers. People condone tory incompetence by scaring themselves with silly hypotheticals presented by a media that tells them how to think.

Yet you continually insult Conservative voters who post here using the disguise of 'the public' or 'the nation'.

It shows that you don't know what you're talking about, and repetition of the same 3 lies just continues to prove that. This is Starmers party. He's purged the left, has attacked Johnson from the right, reneged on the pledges he made to win the leadership contest, has refused to hold the most openly corrupt gov in our lifetimes to account, and folks are wondering why labour supporters had nothing to vote for. It's just mind-numbingly stupid.

No, I'm clearly talking about the public. If I wanted to insult people on here, I'd address them directly.

You're free to let your imagination run wild, but don't shove words down my throat to claim like I'm victimising you because you don't like my opinion. It's weak.

Boris Johnson in Hartlepool thanking his subjects is something magical.

Conservative voters here are part of the public, so you are insulting them.

Humza Yousaf is 'accosted' by Liberal Party in Glasgow

Aileen Clarke

At the Emirates Arena, Glasgow

Quite an unpleasant scene, with Humza Yousaf who was the justice minister in the last administration, being accosted by two members of one of the smaller parties, the Liberal Party.

One of them, Derek Jackson, who is candidate in the southside constituency was asking about the hate crime legislation and then that turned to them asking about the treatment of women and children in Pakistan.

At that stage Humza tells me he tried to draw it to a close, it was getting rather heated. He was pleased to say that other members of other parties stood in to make it clear that was not a conversation anybody was willing to continue

The two members of the Liberal Party started to walk away but as they did so, were seen to be giving fascist salutes and military salutes as they headed towards the exit.

I know that the police spoke to Mr Jackson. It's not clear if they were asked to leave the building or they just left.

It comes just hours after Nicola Sturgeon was confronted by far-right independent candidate Jayda Fransen outside a polling station in Glasgow Southside.
