Not a Brexit supporting former Labour MP

How are we supposed to call Kate Hoey, "Far-right" and still look sane?

You know, I'm glad you brought her into it, saves me the job.

She actually nearly gets to the crux of it with the point about the NIP, but misses the point purposefully by pretending this is a new development and wasn't labeled as part of project fear when they were warned about it years ago.

Brexit reality is hitting, and folks are coming up with all kinds of nonsense to pretend it's not their fault.

We got everything we wanted from the EU. Not my words, the words of top gear magazine (I know you'll get that reference), and Boris Johnson.

She is a right winger these days for the record, although irrelevant because anyone who supported Brexit has put themselves in the same corner, so desperate that the reality that eluded them for the last decade now isn't enough, so they have to pretend it's nothing to do with Brexit.

No Brexit = No NIP
NIP only exists because of Brexit.

Boris saying no border and how the EU being worried about no deal forced them to give us te great oven ready deal. He's full of sh1t. Always has been, always will, except now he's unaccountable to anyone which makes him far more dangerous.

Who called her far right?

she is a lefty

The Slim Reaper 09-04-2021 05:14 PM

She's not a lefty. After leaving labour she was door to door campaigning with Tories, but no one has called her far right. Alf thought he had a gotcha moment, but he didn't.

That's how you answer a question without getting mortally offended and running off - just in case anyone is interested.

Imagine thinking that all you have to do is label someone "Far-right" and that means you win the argument.

Well you don't need to imagine, because it's a reality.

And explain where that has been done...

:wavey:

Unfortunately the crux wasn't his politics, it was the fact that this was seen years and years ago, so pretending it isn't reality, in the midst of what is currently happening is weird.

My far right spectator comment was tongue in cheek nod to this post, except I took the time to explain and clarify what I actually meant because this is supposedly SD after all.

...it’s just so heartbreaking to see these images ...so much building of trust over the years completely broken down with empty reassurances and dishonesty...

Today is the 23rd anniversary of the signing of the Good Friday Agreement

Ammi 10-04-2021 12:12 PM

...just so very deeply saddening...I read a quote, not directly relating but so true...

‘Anything that is given can be at once taken away. We have to learn never to expect anything, and when it comes it's no more than a gift on loan.’

..it was never something to be compromised and yet it was...
