JK Rowling didn't need to marry a royal to sell her books, she had talent.

The Bench has dropped more than 95 places in little over a week, with the retail giant slashing the price by almost 40 per cent.

Both Duchesses have done well in their specific genres. I don't get why anyone criticises someone for achieving something that they set out to do.

Hilarious isn’t it

…yeah well done both of them for their achievement……they’re both best sellers in their genre…Charlie Mackesy’s first children’s picture book, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse is one of the best selling books of recent times and one that is used in schools a lot…I also have a copy which was bought as a gift as it has some excellent life quotes that are both child and adult inspiring….and also some wonderful illustrations…

Aw that book was used during the last home schooling session for Matthew. The whole school studied it during mental health week.

…yeah totally, that’s one that is used in schools a lot and also in hospitals when children are going through difficult and challenging times…the value of children’s books in general and children’s picture books also is not to be underestimated …

It’s a child’s picture book based on a poem not some epic piece of literature

It’s nothing more than a money making exercise taking advantage of the situation of being in the media.

We will see more books and more vertures to make as much money as possible while they are seen as people of interest.

Do you consider the above to be immoral?

Definitely not, I don’t begrudge them earning any amount of money it’s just the false sentiments that goes with it like saying she hopes the book will change the world.

Let’s be honest we could all write a Children’s book, you only have to look in the poets hut thread to know tibb is far from short when it comes to creativity.

thesheriff443 21-06-2021 08:45 AM

The sheriff and toy soldier will still be here at the end
No matter what the thread or the latest trend
We will never break but only slightly start to bend
Who will be here when tibb comes to its final end

My in-laws sent the children this book. I'm not a fan of Meghan but it's a sweet little book although nothing extraordinary. I mean, it's not The Gruffalo.

We all know Arista will be last man standing. He'll still be posting the front pages when there are no other members.

Julia Donaldson is great but I have to say, The Gruffalo started to get a bit old after the 250th read. I lean more towards Highway Rat, or perhaps Tiddler.

Oh I'm nowhere near 250.... I will have to check out your alternatives for when I am.

I reckon I still know the whole book off by heart from when my 21 year old daughter was a toddler

Crimson Dynamo 22-06-2021 09:33 AM

lol I remember after like the third book I used to point and say "is that a moth?" and then like skip 2 pages forward and then start reading again to speed things up. But eventually, i got caught out and the brats got wise to my cunning ruse:p

It only stayed there for a week, which Indicates to me thay she bought 1000s of copies herself.

How nice of her fans to keep track of her achievements. I've wanted to look at the rankings this week but I don't need to anymore. Successful queen.

Yes they are.

It's weirder that the picts would be constantly defending the existing English Monarchy :smug:
