we really dont have a clue how the variants will go in the future. If we take flu as an example, each year there are new strains, some years there can be particularly nasty variants, other times not so much. I don't seen any reason why covid will be any different. We have been relatively lucky this time round, but the next one could be a stinker

Patrick Vallance said yesterday that the severity of any future variants would be 'random'

The Queen has cancelled her virtual engagements for Tuesday as she is still experiencing mild, cold-like symptoms from Covid, royal officials have said.

Buckingham Palace confirmed on Sunday that the Queen, 95, had tested positive and was experiencing mild symptoms.

sounds to me like the palace are playing it down, but it's the right decision for sure

Ah right so she's not going to 'carry on'? Good. I hope she is resting like she should.

Covids just a flu variant, the present, at the time flu vaccines, failed the vulnerable in its infant years...all that's happened has been a tweaking off the failed flu vaccine.

It isn't a flu variant Parmy - they're completely different viruses with vastly different infection rates and symptoms. It's a coronavirus. That's never been in question.
