Oh it's absolutely been HEAVILY commercialised into a money-making machine... but we're three decades into neoliberal capitalism so the question of "what isn't??" comes to mind there.

I guess Pride would be more constructive if held in the hellholes that need to catch up with the modern world. Holding the parades over here does nothing for the gays being thrown off roofs or, as you say, being imprisoned, or having their genitals removed like in Iran...

Beso 28-06-2022 01:07 PM

Funny thing is, all these hell holes and backward thinking nations that still persecute the gay communities also have people fleeing from them and are welcomed with open arms into the UK by the uks gay activists.

There are unfortunately places in the world where it would still be an absolute bloodbath (parts of the Middle East and Africa). There are however some places still in the "middle" that I think are still where the UK/US etc were decades ago, good example would be a lot of eastern European EU members where homosexuality is now legally accepted (because of compliance with various EU laws) but still not widely accepted socially in any overt sense.

To be fair Parmy many of the people fleeing those countries and seeking refuge ARE the gay communities of those countries, as they're at serious risk of persecution (or injury, or death). There are sadly places in the world where the violence against the LGBT community is still primarily literal violence, rather than mean tweets.

And so we should welcome them with open arms and crack down more on economic migration

One just has to hope they leave behind their homophobic and misogynistic cultures...

I know, that's why I never pay much attention to the "they are all men of fighting age" argument.

Well yeah, even back when homosexuality wasn't widely accepted in the West, people in a Pride parade would never really be putting their lives at risk. But the places that REALLY need it ... as you say, it would be a bloodbath.

But I agree there should be a greater Pride presence in certain European countries - they're not beyond help, marchers wouldn't be killed, acceptance is probably within reach.
BUT there shouldn't be the kind of displays which go on in the parades here and in America. Way to go guys, reinforcing every bad gay stereotype. That'll win people over!!

Its a 1971 Groundbreaking Film 10 Outta 10
He used Tiny Cassettes for music HI Fi
instead of the new standard cassettes
that had just started

Its a Political film,
After He released it in the UK
some crimes were said to be because of his film
He then Withdrew it from UK Cinemas
But OK in USA.

[The film was withdrawn from British release in 1973
by Warner Bros at the request of Kubrick.
In response to allegations that the film was
responsible for copycat violence Kubrick agreed.]

[In Ireland, the film was banned on 10 April 1973.]

Has Adult Rape Scenes

Older Protestors - get Police help.

arista 02-07-2022 03:19 PM

Uniformed Police are banned

But Peter Tatchell told SkyNewsHD
he has permitted plain closed Police to help him
today on his march through London.

On that above Tweet
Police are with the Anti Gay Protestors
only.

Zizu 02-07-2022 03:34 PM

How can anyone ban the police ?
