Look how bent out of shape women on here get when trans man is competing against a woman and how unfair it is

You can’t bloody have it both ways

Let the men play the men and the women play the women .

Has anyone suggested otherwise?

I'm not sure if you're being deliberately obtuse here or you really don't understand what the issue is

All Souness had to say was that the physical game is back, no need for the word men at all given it is a sport played by both and the rules are the same in mens and womens football....are they not?

Then compromise. When football is on the TV for a certain sex then if the mention of the names or a term of that sex is uttered then that person gets called out and cancel culture comes after them and their job.

Then I think we're all happy.

I don't want to cancel anyone, but if that's what you want go for it.

Can't believe I'm having to speak in the defence of a former Liverpool player.

This hurts.

The issue is, women thinking that because they won a championship they are suddenly better or know more than a man talking about a man’s game.

It really isn't but ok...........

Just to show you that the term "A man's game" is a term that's been around for years. Here's a very funny little scene from Rising Damp.

Again no one said the female pundit knew more than the male pundit, can you point out who said this? as you seem to be reading things that do not exist

The issue is respect, plain and simple

How can he be properly clued up on the women players or the women’s game though ?

I see him as a token male pundit , a high profile player who’s willing to take the money .

I wonder what all the female ex England player/pundits think about him taking work from them ??

Why wouldn't he be? I'm sure he did his research on the National Team, they represent his country so represent him too. The rules are the same as the men's rules

I think that’s about it ..

The only real similarity that I can see is that they both have the SAME rules.

They should try respecting a man that had a great career infootball and has forgotten more than most know about mens football

Woman’s football is not in the same league as mens football so the sense of out rage is laughable.

To be properly informed he’d have to be spending all his waking time watching and researching women’s football .. he’s also currently a pundit on men’s football so there’s not enough time in the day to watch all the live and televised football games

It's a national game, so I disagree with you on that point

Well to be a competent pundit you have to watch the players playing regularly to be informed .

You have to know how the players CAN perform ( their strengths and limitations) and how they have been performing then you can comment on their current situation or their form

There’s no way that Ian Wright ( who I love ) can be as informed as any number of ex female player / pundits are on the women’s game

He may not be as informed as female players would be (that is speculation of course I don't know what Ian Wright watches in his free time) but he's a big name in Football so he brings that element to it. I doubt the female players were complaining about him being a pundit, were they?

I mean the female ex players who would be in his place on telly ... he’s effectively taking money out of their pockets

I’d like to know their opinions on his position . There aren’t too many punditry places up for grabs anyways and Alex Scott seems to get most of them ..

I think that the women's game needs a bigger more well known name like Ian Wright to garner more interest in it. Have any ex female players complained about him being a Pundit? I think a lot of them would have been happy he was there to help promote it.

Well I took it to mean that he was on about how soft he felt men's Football had gone, and that he is loving how yesterday's match threw him back to his playing days.

But maybe I read him wrong.:joker:

But skiing is a sport, and they always differentiate between the men and womens slalom and downhill.

Everyones getting their knickers in a twist over a saying that's been around since football began..

Absolutely ridiculous.
