yes black armbands, and a national tribute, 2 full minutes of silence

royals are massive sports and entertainment fans, so i can also being a moment of remembrance at strictly show considering royals have been their no.1 superfans from the beginning (and somehow even if she survives this, would still be very fitting to do something for them in their 20th jubilee series given they are already also paying tribute to 100 years of british television)

can't see football, rugby being cancelled at all, can just see Britain being more united than ever i think in the mourning period

We all are, Lewis. We all are.

The Slim Reaper 08-09-2022 01:31 PM

We should all share our favourite queen stories as the time of her final breath draws near.

do you think?

Apparently they would but those were under the plans that were revealed a few years ago so it might not happen anymore

I'd be very surprised if they played though if she passes in the next 24 hours

Lewismacfarlane 08-09-2022 01:33 PM

I actually met princess Anne once

jet 08-09-2022 01:54 PM

It’s possible, and I hope I’m wrong, but she could have already passed and they are waiting for Prince Charles and Prince William to get there before it is officially announced.
I feel tearful. :bawling:

I have just said the same thing Jet. I think you are right and once all the family are there they will make another announcement

Oh god, please don't say that. We have to remain positive.

bots 08-09-2022 02:00 PM

in this era, they can keep her ticking until the timing is appropriate, morbid maybe but also true

Kate! 08-09-2022 02:06 PM

This is very sad news. The true end of an era if so.

bots 08-09-2022 02:07 PM

This would be an ideal time for republicans to nip out and change all the locks on the royal houses

At times like these, there are no republicans :bawling:

She heart broken for Boris I should imagine.
The past few days haven’t been easy for any of us patriots

Just seen the image of Huw Edwards with a black tie .

It's not looking good, it's sad news coming by looks of it .

joeysteele 08-09-2022 02:21 PM

It is extremely concerning.
I'd love to think there was hope but sadly I doubt there is any.

I sort of agree with the views on here posted recently that she may have already passed away.
With the waiting of all the immediate family present before any further announcement.

Bless her.

Redway 08-09-2022 02:24 PM

BBC One’s withdrawn all the programming that was scheduled for tonight so it’s really not looking good. Bless-her.

Vanessa 08-09-2022 02:31 PM

I think she may have already passed away

An uncle* of mine was in the Navy, and for some event or other he and his shipmates were all lined up, and met the Queen, one after the other. They were all meant to just say a simple and respectful greeting, and let her move on? But he burst out MY WIFE IS EXPECTING. Apparently she looked taken aback but amused, and moved on. (He hadn't long set sail, don't worry, it wasn't the milkman).

A few years later there was a similar event, where they were all lined up, greeting her one after another. She got to him, and asked of it was a boy or a girl!

*Uncle-ish. He wasn't a sibling of either parent, just a distantish relative. I'm not even certain it was the Navy he was in :joker: but the point of the story still stands.

bots 08-09-2022 02:36 PM

ive been scanning international channels, and on all of them, she is "The Queen" not the queen of the UK

Lewismacfarlane 08-09-2022 02:39 PM

This is heartbreaking stuff
