Kate Middleton and Prince William dazzle at Earthshot Prize ceremony in Boston

Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, stepped out in style to close out their three-day trip to the United States.

The Princess of Wales looked regal in an off-the-shoulder bright green gown by designer Solace London. A Kensington Palace spokesperson told NBC News that the former Kate Middleton borrowed the dress from the U.K. rental platform HURR.
The 40-year-old royal paired her glam look with an emerald and diamond necklace that once belonged to the late Princess Diana, matching earrings and silver heels.
Prince William, on his end, looked dapper in a deep navy velvet tuxedo jacket with black slacks.
The royal couple waved at the crowd who gathered around the event and green carpet, and posed for photos as they made their way indoors to the event.
The Earthshot Prize is awarded to five winners each year for their contributions to environmentalism. It was created in 2020 by Prince William and David Attenborough.

Additional guests included Billie Eilish, singer-songwriter Annie Lennox, actors Rami Malek, Daniel Dae Kim and Shailene Woodley, as well as Senator Mitt Romney and wife Ann Romney, Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck and wife Emilia Fazzalari, and John Kerry, who serves as the first U.S. special presidential envoy for climate.
David Beckham made an appearance at the ceremony. The former British soccer player wore a black tuxedo for the formal event.
British singer Ellie Goulding also showed her support, wearing a white billowing gown.

“Schitt’s Creek” star Catherine O’Hara and husband Bo Welch posed for photos as they arrived to The Earthshot Prize ceremony.

The Prince and Princess of Wales' appearance came hours after William met with President Joe Biden at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. While at the establishment, he also met with Caroline Kennedy.

The former Kate Middleton was not present, as she visited The Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University.

How to Watch the 2022 Earthshot Prize
Prince William's Earthshot Prize ceremony will be available to watch online.

Last year, the BBC's ceremony won a BAFTA for Best Live Event. "It was a festival of hope and human ingenuity, filled with big-name stars and brilliant musical acts. This year’s will be every bit as spectacular. And as we gear up for a tough winter, there couldn’t be a better time to showcase surprising new solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental problems," Jack Bootle, BBC's Head of Commissioning, shared.

On December 4, the ceremony will air on BBC One in the UK. On December 14, PBS stations will air the ceremony at 8 p.m. ET.
On December 5, the Earthshot Prize will be streamable on PBS.org and the PBS app starting at 2 p.m. ET, and the PBS YouTube channel at 8 p.m. ET. It will also be available to watch on The Earthshot Prize YouTube channel.

A glitzy, celebrity filled vanity project that excluded the actual people being ‘honoured’ in favour of flying in rich and famous people to mingle with the royals :joker:

There were 15 teams from all around the globe waiting to hear the results in their particular category. Only 5 could be awarded the 1 million.

Obviously, the winning teams couldn’t be there, if they were, everyone would have known the results beforehand. However, the winners had lots of coverage as they told the stories of their inspiring work and they all appeared on screen when they heard the results to celebrate the news.

Flying in people from all over the world isn’t a good look for an environmental ceremony. William and Kate flew to Boston on a commercial flight, they are setting an example, not preaching and doing the opposite.

And BTW, having some high profile celebs at such an event is exactly what is done to attract attention and interest to raise awareness of any great cause. You didn't know that?
