Yeah I've heard rumours about Schofield too.

I don't know if they're true but what a nasty family. Even if Schofield isn't guilty of grooming, his brother was.

I don't believe in branding people based on the actions of their family... however in this case I strongly suspect Philip knew about his brother's actions long before he publicly denounced them. I think he knew about his brother but kept quiet until it was going public anyway, at which point he pretended that he had only just found out.

Has Holly then maybe figured this out - that he knew about Brofield but kept his secrets...? PURE SPECULATION.

...but maybe :suspect:.

Their "rift" seems to have developed with suspicious timing.

straw that broke the camels back i think. She started off from a good place where Phil was her good buddy. She would let him away with a lot in those circumstances, but eventually, she is going to look back and think ....... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa .... no way am i putting up with anymore of this

The allegations against Phil is that he groomed a young boy of 11 or so. YES, it's wrong to say he did if he didn't but where do those rumours come from?

I dunno... though they're not everyone's cup of tea and not necessarily mine, they are both objectively skilled and experienced presenters who have been "doing what they do" for a long time. It's a mask that's probably quite easy for them to slip on while they do the job, and doesn't necessarily mean there isn't significant tension behind the scenes.

I think it's known that he had a relationship with a much younger man who, whilst over 18 at the time the relationship took place, knew and was in the company of Schofield from a much younger age. That automatically does (and should!) raise red flags, even if nothing physically happened before the boy was an "adult", it can still be a form of grooming.

Alarmingly - I don't think there are any actual laws against that sort of grooming. If it's never overtly personal or sexual then it would be hard to even identify UNTIL something later happens between those two people once the younger person is "old enough". It's still years of gaining that young person's trust/friendship/admiration when they were at an impressionable age ... and so still really ****ing dodgy to turn it into something else when that person is in their late teens/early 20's.

Rule of thumb: If someone (an adult) has known someone closely since they were a kid they shouldn't be getting into physical relationships with them. At least not until MUCH older. I suppose you could argue that if the kid is now a FULL full adult (like 35) then they know their own mind and can do what they want, and are largely a completely different person. But a 20 year old isn't THAT different to who they were as a young teenager, so it's again just a big red flag for it to go there.

bots 15-05-2023 11:25 AM

there have been many stories about co-presenters not getting on with each other over the years and they all do their jobs

IF that is true
it will go Front Page

bots 15-05-2023 12:31 PM

it won't go front page if he has taken out an injunction, which is quite likely at this point

That will not last.

user104658 15-05-2023 12:41 PM

If nothing overt happened between them before he was over the age of consent, the media will have a hard time branding it grooming without him taking heavy legal action (even though, as above, I do still think it's grooming). He can argue that the relationship was completely platonic and "developed later" - unless the boy / (now) man involved says otherwise it would be pure speculation, no matter how likely. And he might not even see it as that.

arista 15-05-2023 12:55 PM

Yes if the Boy, now a man
talks about it.
On SkyNewesHD, BBCnewsHD, GBnewsHD

That will help.

Philip's pockets might be deeper than the papers, and less hassle

bots 15-05-2023 01:15 PM

i don't think we will hear any more about it. The max that can happen is that Holly is pissed off enough to say i'm off and terminates her contract with ITV, but I think that's highly unlikely. The most likely is that they will both continue to smile while accepting their pay cheques

I think they'll be gently replaced fairly soon tbh. Holly might be siphoned off to do something else.

I see a lot of people on YouTube saying they can't say anything for legal reasons but Phil is 'as bad as his brother'. But we need evidence.
