What happens livia is the people that do absolutely nothing for this country are the ones shouting the loudest against the people that actually do something for this country.

It’s fcuking hilarious

Too many people cannot accept that the majority of this country are indifferent to Charles and Camilla. The obsequious worshipping of them is quite sickening

I can't say I've seen much "worshipping" going on, obsequious or otherwise.

"People wouldn't swap places with those privileged, wealthy people if they weren't privileged and wealthy!!"

:joker: Come on now Sheriff even you can see this is a poor argument.

"Yes he's muscly but I bet you wouldn't swap bodies with Henry Caville if his face got burned off in a house fire would you! AHA! Gotchaaa."

That's quite interesting actually Livia :hee:. It does make sense in terms of how the game is played, that the "King" is really just a generic "ruler" (be it king, Queen, Emperor or whatever) and the "Queen" is more like a Game-of-Thrones style "Kingsguard".

I assumed you were saying that if they didn't have their wealth and privilege no one would swap places with them ... unless you were saying that even WITH their wealth and privilege no one would swap places with them? But that's just a ludicrous claim.

tbf I would hate the life of a Royal  I value my privacy and freedom too much (also Charles is 74 years old, I'm not trading all those years for some cash thanks)

Well no, no one in their right mind would swap with Charles but that's not because he's a royal ... it's because by the looks of the adema in his hands, it's highly likely that he has congestive heart failure :umm2:.

I was taking it to mean "the royals" more generally, i.e. William and Kate.

And no I don't think that life is for everyone but to say that NO ONE would swap for it really underestimates just how much cash we're talking about here. A truly staggering level of wealth.

I would love the money don't get me wrong but I know myself I wouldn't deal well with not being able to just go and do my own thing without booking it in, having an entourage of security follow me or else have to sneak around like some criminal or have cameras shoved in my face every where I went or unflattering photos plastered over the internet etc etc I understand the money and opportunities would be great but in other ways it must be quite restrictive and smothering. i feel claustrophobic just imagining it. It's easy for ordinary people and those struggling financially to say "OH boo hoo poor rich people" but you can see a lot of the Royals are really unhappy in their lives too. It is true money can't buy happiness especially when you've never known any other life, it isn't a novelty so it's just their life

bots 09-05-2023 03:36 PM

its only really a small handful of royals that get any press attention, the rest of them do exactly what they want and still have bags full of cash

What do they actually get to do with that wealth?
Money should give you freedom and choice but they have neither

thesheriff443 09-05-2023 04:01 PM

The reason Diana was with dodi when she died is because the heart surgeon who she had been seeing for some time, ending the relationship because he couldn’t handle the press intrusion, she even invited his mother to the palace

When Charlie dies and William takes the thrown, what’s Camilla gonna be known as? Kings stepmother doesn’t really have a ring to it y’know

bots 09-05-2023 04:05 PM
