Just heard in the circus tent, per The Independent’s Jacob Stolworthy...

Compère: “Who here was at the Arctic Monkeys last night?”

*Crowd cheers*

Compère: “Were they good?”

*Deathly silence*

Seems like the set was just as divisive in person as it was on TV...

Jesus just fast forwarding through the Artic Monkeys set … how disappointing !

I gave up on them after about their second album and that appears to have been a good decision .. 90% of the songs are dross and sound sooo similar ,

The crowd only got excited when they played their oldies .. the ones they could sing along to

Maybe the band should take heed and go back to their roots

I just cant take the BBC presentation of "omg amazing" to everything - there is no context or objective critic

Its like a disease and of course anything that is "diverse" is super mega amazing

bleugh

Pure, yes. Don't know if they played Three Lions because the iPlayer stopped working during Life of Riley.

Crimson Dynamo 24-06-2023 08:30 PM

Lizzo. Disgusting

I don't think Three Lions would have gone down well. It's a patriotic song for England. But there will have been a lot of your lot from North of the border and the Welsh in the crowd. So I wouldn't have recommended them playing that

Cherie 24-06-2023 09:05 PM

Guns n Roses :worry: his voice sounds terrible.

Lizzo was great

Got to be honest, I like both Three Lions and World in Motion.

I heard his voice recently and I agree, he sounded a bit off.

Axel hasn't aged like Sir Michael Jagger in the voice department.

Cherie 24-06-2023 09:11 PM

must have been the mike, he has improved

Glastonbury 2023

Jesus is that him singing or one of the band ??

Looks unrecognisable .

The songs always sound great until he starts singing

He was actually out of time with the song for a moment.

Crazy how singers ( generally) get worse with age yet the guitarists seem to get better plus the sound equipment is always improving

I saw Elton a couple of weeks ago and he looked on his last legs.

Is he head-lineing tomorrow?

I might tune in incase he does a Tommy Cooper.
