[A woman arrested on suspicion of
causing the death by dangerous driving of
a young girl after a Land Rover crashed through
a school fence has been bailed.

A Met statement said: 'The driver of the car,
a 46-year-old woman from Wimbledon,
was arrested at the scene on suspicion
of causing death by dangerous driving.
'She was taken to hospital - her condition
was assessed as not life-threatening.
She has been bailed pending further inquiries
to a date in late July.

'Detectives from the
Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit
are leading the investigation and their
inquiries are ongoing.
They are expected to remain at the
scene throughout the day.]

So I assume she had a medical problem
And did not know she was driving into children?

Still the secrecy and mystery

When ever i see this story I just imagine my school trying to host a fancy tea party for all us rats, it would have been a scene of carnage, not to dissimilar to the photos from this one ironically.

They cant say she was over the limit or she had a seizure?

user104658 07-07-2023 04:41 PM

I read talk of them arresting her and seizing her phone. From the angle the car was coming from my bet is that she was texting, came along that road at maybe 40, hit the fence and panicked.

There was that story a few years back about the young mum who died after wrecking her car on the way home from the school run... watching Love Island on ITV+ while driving :umm2:.

user104658 07-07-2023 04:42 PM

Another possibility is falling asleep at the wheel? My dad wrote off a car that way - luckily alone on a country road - but if another car had been involved he could easily have killed someone .

[my bet is that she was texting, came along

No way
she would still be arrested.

Must be a Medical Problem

This is England ..we’d let her go free on bail if she said it was deliberate and uploaded live footage to YouTube

She was bailed, not sent on her way. If there's no suspicion that she did it on purpose they'd have no reason to hold her while they investigate... it doesn't mean she won't be charged.

[A heartbreaking note was left for the
eight-year-old girl killed in the
Wimbledon prep school crash]

arista 08-07-2023 03:34 PM

She drove through a low metal fence
then a wooden fence.

Then into the girls
who were in a safe area close to the school building.

I assume it was a medical episode.

If she had a condition where she should have surrendered her licence that will be appauling

Crimson Dynamo 08-07-2023 03:54 PM

My Dad passed out driving once but luckily the car just came to a slow stop and mounted a kerb and no one was hurt (he never drove again after that)
