I don't mind, but not sure what
the other judges think. |
I've only just started judging so it's fine with me

Just Alf LT and BOTS to send in for the next round. One hit wonders.

Just to let you know, Judges are instructed to be strict on this. If its not a one hit wonder you'll be marked down.

a band can have multiple records released, but if only one of them is a ht, then it is a one hit wonder

It is one "hit" though so I'll be judging them that way as BOTS said |
Yes, it's impossible to find an artist who has only one song.
|
I'll send mine when I am back hame at aboot 9
|
My definition of a one hit wonder would be someone who only had one song get into the top 10 in the charts and didn't have any other song that even reached the top 20.

Probably go for Kylie or Springsteen, that kind of vibe
|
I'll stick with mine. It's hard enough to find a song that is actually a one hit wonder.
This round isn't going to be easy. |
If they never get a second song into the top 100 it is a one hit wonder, that is the criteria I live my life by

Sometimes they have a big hit and then on the back of that hit they have another song that isn't a hit but still sells OK because of their first hit. That's pretty much the definition of a one hit wonder. |
A one-hit wonder is a musical artist who is successful with one hit song, but without a comparable subsequent hit123. The term is used to describe an artist or band who achieves mainstream popularity for only one piece of work, and becomes known among the general public solely for that momentary success12. Sometimes, people will only remember the name of the song, and not the singer/group behind it4

Chesney Hawkes had a number 1. Then his next song reached number 27. Then he basically disappeared. That's the criteria I see as one hit wonder.
|
Would you consider Chesney Hawkes a one hit wonder when this reached number 27?
I know of this song because it's from the film, Buddy's song. Starring Chesney Hawkes and Roger Daltry. I went to pictures to see this. Basically because I have always been a Buddy Holly fan. |
