It's not selfish at all to have your own wedding where and when you want it. What would be selfish would be to expect someone to change their own wedding plans to suit you. If you can't go, wish them the best and stay home.

Hmm I guess it is selfish but I didn't really think too much of it. The only thing I'd say is that if she does want it to be abroad it should be because she genuinely wants it there and the experience/vibe of it rather than to see how much/who really cares about being there.

But wanting a wedding abroad is not a new concept. Plenty of people do it especially in hotspots like Greece and Italy
