Sure
it was a shock for them.

Very Tragic to drown in his own Jacuzzi
he may have been tired
or using drugs or drink.

If you are alone,
these errors can happen.

Found out earlier today, I'm utterly devastated. I'm a big friends fan....and I still watch the repeats on TV . I know he had his problems and issues, but I kept hoping he'd get better. Very sad news.

I remember watching the friends reunion, and seeing how unwell he looked, and how worried I felt. I was glad they did the reunion when they did ,I had a feeling we wouldn't see all 6 of them together like that again...which added that sense of poignancy.

It's awful that because his health deteriorated so much , it's like people were expecting it . How bad is that ! ....the guy was only 54 ...I don't care what anyone says it's still a huge blow to hear he's died , like I said I know he had his problems. But still .

Rewatching friends will never be the same again , Matthew Perry was talented, and he made us laugh and he entertained us all R.I.P.

In a joint statement, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow said it was an "unfathomable loss".

The Friends actor was reportedly found unresponsive in a hot tub at his house on Saturday.

Perry's post-mortem examination was inconclusive.

Officials are awaiting the results of toxicology tests.

"We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew," the Friends cast said in a joint statement released to People magazine on Monday.

"We were more than just castmates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we're going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able.

"For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty's family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."

Whether there's drugs involved or not an whether they're prescription or not, I reckon the ultimate reason is probably just that he's suffered some sort of adverse health event (heart attack, stroke, etc.), passed out and slipped under the water. Really a tragic way to go, and also a cautionary tale for why you shouldn't go solo in water deep enough to slip under and drown, especially over a certain age (probably about 50). He may well not have died if the same thing had happened "on dry land", so to speak, or if there'd been someone with him to stop him going under the water.

Apparently the post mortem revealed nothing so they will do some other tests

I just cannot bring myself to buy his book. There is no way I want to watch friends scenes thinking "oh during this scene he was badly hungover or in terrible pain. " Nope no sirry. Chandler will always be my sarcasm king :bawling: second to none, the best.

Victor Meldrew is above a sarcasm King. Victor Meldrew is a sarcasm God

Whitney and then her daughter both went in the bath. I would imagine it's pretty common

Has anyone seen this eerie edited YouTube vid,it was made long before Matthew's death. But it's weird now...that of all the characters , it was the chandler character they did this to .

He was my favourite Friend. I can't read a sentence starting with "Could I/you/he/she/it be more..." without saying it in Chandlers voice :( he obviously had a.lot of demons though

His story is a very sad one really. Especially as, despite all of those demons and addictions, it seems he was totally harmless to everyone but himself. Which is very different to a lot of the "celebrities with demons" stories.

My daughter has his book actually, I might borrow it from her. She said the last line in it is "and I should be dead" :(

Apparently he had major health problems a few years ago and was given something like 5% odds of survival, including a cardiac arrest and needing his heart to be restarted. Unfortunately that almost always causes permanent damage to the heart so adding to the likelihood that he may have had a heart attack in the hot tub.

and the fact that he went out of his way to help people with similar addictions

…it’s been humming around in my head for a few days because I was thinking how much some of the lyrics of Friends feel so personal for Matthew Perry as well…

No one could ever know me
No one could ever see me
Seems you're the only one who knows
What it's like to be me
Someone to face the day with
Make it through all the rest with
Someone I'll always laugh with
Even at my worst, I'm best with you, yeah
It's like you're always stuck in second gear
When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month
Or even your year
I'll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you
(Like I've been there before)
I'll be there for you
('Cause you're there for me too)

..I’m finding it incredibly emotional to listen to…💔…but bittersweet in what he’s said what Friends meant to his life and how it ‘saved him’ in his younger days….

Actor Matthew Perry has been laid to rest at a Los Angeles cemetery following a private funeral on Friday, according to US media reports.

All five of his co-stars from hit sitcom Friends attended the service alongside Perry's family, it was reported.

The funeral service at the Forest Lawn cemetery, near Warner Bros Studios, is said to have lasted two hours.

I’ve been watching a lot of Friends episodes the last couple weeks. Matthew Perry was so great it’s sad watching these episodes knowing he’s no longer with us.

I’m currently watching the one where he’s handcuffed in Rachel’s boss’ office. One of my favourite Chandler moments it still makes me laugh when I watch it.
