Yep, similar to how LA had changed since 1992, for GTA in 2013

I honestly hope that these people don't end up disappointed with it, I personally would've liked Rockstar to have not touched GTA again and leave it's legacy of being the "edgiest Game alive" in tact, because as weird as it is to say, but Rockstar are going after one of my favourite childhood franchises here, I loved in particular playing Vice City and San Andreas as a kid, and they weren't afraid to say or do offensive things, and have creative missions, something that I'm not entirely confident that the 2023 crew can pull off.

I mean I still am remembering Cyberpunk's chat-A-thon segments with all of the Starbuck wannabes, which I can just unfortunately picture GTA VI being exactly like that.

I honestly pray that I'm wrong, but western entertainment is lame nowadays, and I could even see Rockstar trying to "educate" us on why previous GTA Games were "bad" instead of trying to be entertaining, I can honestly picture it.

I'll honestly be very happy if I hear something on one of the Radio Stations as iconic as "I think I've just shot my baby" as it requires an actual sense of humour (a morbid one) but still one nonetheless.

Well, for one I don't think it ever really had the reputation of the edgiest game, at least not since GTA 1 on the PSX when the boomers had their pants in a twist that you could "steal cars and run people down" in top-down mode :joker:.

I also just have to say, I would be very, very surprised if GTA6 has "gone woke". It's always been intended for an 18+ audience, that's not going to have changed.

The only thing i really hope is that the social media aspect is optional. The trailer featured that quite heavily, i hope it's not required to progress your character. Social media bores me to tears. It'll be really off putting if a PC's requirements focus on Instagram/Facebook type streaming and vanity

Scarlett. 05-12-2023 09:31 PM

I think it'd be cool if moments in game ended up appearing on the ingame Tiktok, I think it will just be similar to Life Invader, Bleeter, and the news sites that update after most missions. Maybe it might even record some free mode stuff too. I don't think it will be linked to progression outside of challenges perhaps.

LaLaLand 05-12-2023 09:36 PM

Cannot wait. Looks immense.

Returning to Vice City is a good way to go, too. Was always the best setting imo!

Scarlett. 05-12-2023 09:55 PM

I'm looking forward to seeing the state of Leonida too, I hope theres more towns and stuff outside of Vice City itself, compared to GTA V

Swan 05-12-2023 10:01 PM

I wonder if they'll feature an alternative to Disney Land, all the theme parks etc Orlando is famous for?!

Swan 05-12-2023 10:33 PM

I'm also hoping they'll be some sort of CO-OP with the 2 protagonists.

Alf 05-12-2023 11:20 PM

There's no future in sitting around playing video games. You're wasting away your one and only life. They're not even influential. Are they?

At least if you watch a movie it could influence you to pick up a camera and make movies or get into acting.

Alf 05-12-2023 11:22 PM

When are we getting Christmas names? I want to be called "Ebanezer Scrooge" I play the role so well.

My only achievement in life is being faster than anyone, on console, at beating GTA 3. :bawling:

I remember hearing a rumour about that, but we'll have to wait and see if it happens

arista 06-12-2023 12:09 AM

[But there’s more. Fans have compared the
woman dual-wielding hammers in the trailer
to an image taken of a real-life woman doing the same,
although she's from Los Angeles, not Miami.]

Of course
real life is like GTA6
at times

But after a Hard Days work,
adults enjoy an hour or 2
in 4K HDR vision
above tv broadcast of 1080i.

Alf
you need to get up to date
some movies now made
are based on video games.

The first GTA V trailer didn't really show much either

GTA was more edgy for it's time is what I'm thinking, like Doom it was the Game that every Evangelical in America couldn't stand.

And I get your point with the GTA V trailer, but to me I feel like that trailer was better than this one for GTA VI, the trailer has more carnage, gangster elements, and just the general look and vibe of a GTA Game.

GTA VI looks like it's got very minimal mobster content going off of it's first trailer, I hope that it's just me being pessimistic and that the Game is much more like a GTA Game than it's initially looking to me so far.

Btw I'm glad to see that you're still on the Forum Scarlett, you've been missed while the very long off-season was happening.

It's good to see that BB's return has been bringing back some iconic members on the Forum, and of course newbies.

Boomers as you call them have hated GTA all of the way up to GTA V, to those people GTA was the anti-Christ.

And I don't think GTA VI will be doing a Cleopatra or Velma (to use TV examples) but I could see them thinking that Cyberpunk's way of being "adult" is the way to go, rather than being what they were good at back in the GTA III-V + Vice City & San Andreas days. Which tbf by today's standards is probably pushing the boat out, but compared to what GTA V was saying and doing back in 2013, it's tame and going backwards in quality imo.

I mean could you imagine in 2023 any Game having a character like Trevor? People would blow a gasket if a legend like that was playable.:joker:

"I mean could you imagine in 2023 any Game having a character like Trevor?"

Yes I can
as it like a real person.

Essential in a story line.

Movies have intruded on every single industry, and imo Video Games and TV Shows are better when made well, and Japanese Anime and Manga controversially.

I find that Movies can be decent, and there are exceptional Movies out there imo (the first Saw, The Matrix and The Dark Knight are some that spring to mind) but most of the time Movies have imo basic plotting, and it's why I view TV Shows and Video Games have been getting weaker since they've been trying to make their stuff more "Movie-esque" because the depth of writing is dead.

For example I dare anyone to find a Movie that has the characterization and depth of plot that the Manga world achieved with Berserk, I hate to be that kind of Berserk fan (because I know I'm sounding like that in this post) but I bet Alf that you won't find many.

And Films that have the characterization, Political intrigue, and worldbuilding that GOT possessed, again I don't think that there's many Movies like that out there of the same quality.

And Japanese Anime where do we even begin? I doubt there's a Movie out there that has the brilliant 1 on 1 dynamic/showdown between Light & L on Death Note at the same level, whilst also having the villain be the main character. I do also suspect that Movies don't have the adrenaline rush and emotastic nature of AOT, whilst also doing some impressive worldbuilding for most of it's run. And in terms of Horror, there isn't really one as well developed in Movies imo than When They Cry, When They Cry can be psychological, gory, deceptive, and mysterious, I haven't seen a single Horror Film be all of those things in one package.

And Video Games have had loads of incredible stories over the years that imo Movies just can't achieve very often, and the fact that so many industries are trying to copy their style is a tragedy imo, not just to the quality of each medium, but also to the variety of options that used to be there (and technically are still there) but it's in name only, like when you watch a Netflix Show, most of the time episode 1 comes off like the first 15 minutes of a Movie, and the finale will feel like the last 15-20 minutes of the Movie.

Rant aside, I get that you have more of a passion for Movies Alf and I understand that, but for me I resent Movies for trying to wipe out every other industry to it on the sly.

Oh and if you're really good at Video Games (which I'm certainly not lol) you can enter e-Sports teams, or become a popular Twitch Streamer.

That tbf is an incredible achievement.

Especially when you've got Asuka's missions to deal with.:joker:

I can't think of one Video Game character post 2013 that was playable and was like Trevor's character.

Mind you I haven't played every AAA Game of the last decade, but I feel like I would've known about it if a Game had a character like that.

To be honest, I kinda found Trevor more annoying than anything, so I'd be glad if there wasnt anyone like him in VI xD
