solo on a Modified Mini Moog

The Lead Singer
also starts a cool Acoustic Guitar Intro

And a conga player on 4 Congas
Starts playing as the Acoustic Guitar Intro has gone for 25seconds

That's a Winner

I agree with you, we have one of the biggest Rock scenes in the world as well, but the stuffy BBC will never allow that to happen.

Olly Alexander is probably the BBC thinking that they have picked a Rockstar.:joker:

Just to clarify though, I actually do believe that Olly Alexander could do well for us if his song is catchy.

Any idea what the song would actually sound like though?.. having a rock band does not make a winner.. there’s been plenty rock bands on it over the last few years and most haven’t won

Tbf to the two acts from last year, if they weren't attached to Germany or Australia (because a lot of Eurovision fans don't agree with Australia being in the contest) I do believe that they would've stood a much better chance of winning.

I like Coldplay, but being honest they haven't had a memorable hit for awhile now tbf.

Your last line obviously from all I've said, I agree with.

He has a great personality, I think he's one of the best personalities to be put forward for Eurovision.
I'm sure his song will be up tempo.

I really hope he gets rewarded for the massive effort I'm sure he'll put into this.
Because it will mean a lot to him.

I don’t think we have any chance of winnings as it’s all political… plus everyone and his uncle basically hate us for one reason or another

That last part is a concern given his long standing battle against depression and anxiety .

I hope he’s prepared for being in the bottom three irregardless of how he performs or how good the song is .

Personally I'm going to hold onto optimism.
He's had success in Europe and is known there.
Plus in Australia too.

He clearly knows the issues around the UK in Eurovision.
He has decided to take up the challenge.

If he does badly it will not be a reflection on him.
It will be more political.

He loves a stage though and I actually think a lot of Nations will likely warm to him so he does rather well.
He'll certainly be a warm and positive presence in the build up to and during Eurovision.
Even just from his endearing personality.

:joker: oh I don't know about me having any great knowledge MTVN.

I do like this guy, his voice and songs.
Plus I rated highly his acting too.
I just think he is a big personality , internationally too, who may connect with a lot of the people of other Countries of Europe.

That's my hope.

Doing well in Eurovision is a tough call but someone with his talent, plus originality along with his infectious personality could stand a better chance than most others.
I think anyhow.

"It will be more political."

Yes but a Good Rock Song
breaks through all that Mumbo Jumbo Politics.

Good Music Wins

My Super Rock Band Backing
I have posted,
would be a winner.

arista 18-12-2023 03:29 PM

BBC Music would back that
if they had the correct Producer.

Swan 18-12-2023 04:40 PM

I only know him from It's a Sin, which was an incredible mini series and very sad. He was good in that. I don't really know his music, but have probably heard songs of his/his band and just not known who sings them.

Also, thanks for clarifying that's it's ok to be ginger, and gay, or either Arista

Oliver_W 18-12-2023 05:02 PM

He's one of those camp cheesey types who do well in Eurovision.

Tbf we would've won the Sam Ryder year if it weren't for Ukraine being at war with Russia, and people really wanted to shove it up Putin.

Like Putin even cares about Eurovision, but logic doesn't always come to pass with Human Beings.

Dizzy is Alexander's first release under his own name after the dissolution of Years & Years. In a interview with the BBC, he revealed that the song was written in the summer of 2023 and is lyrically about "feeling such an intense swell of emotion for someone they totally turn your world upside down and inside out".

-------------

so he wrote a song about something 99.9% of songs are about, love

I personally thought that we were lucky to not be dead last with her song tbh.

I do understand tbf, that maybe the stress of the Media in this country hating on her probably didn't help matters.

Hopefully Olly Alexander can really get the crowd going on the night.
