The excuse is someone with fat fingers typed the wrong code, is that even possible that there would be no warning flag before you hit send?

With #Microsoft down, several coffee shops and shops that have gladly told us
they can’t accept cash ever again, today have no card machines working and
ARE accepting cash.

Oh so it does have its uses?

it's human nature to just click OK on an "are you sure" dialog, thats why these things happen all the time.

A lot of the process can be automated, but there is always human interaction at some point in the process

Not when the code change is potentially site-breaking, let alone globally site-breaking :joker:.

Don't Blame Microsoft, they are also victims of this faulty update by that antivirus software Crowdstrike

i had a microsoft edge update this morning, installed just fine, and the store also worked last time i checked this morning, with a microsoft store update also correctly installed this morning

stupid Crowdstrike are fully to blame here, glad i don't have that specific antivirus program then

Nicky91 19-07-2024 12:04 PM

no wonder they are all focussed on fixing this now, its weekend and no IT personnel wants to spend their weekends being busy fixing up this ****

No Nicky

Microsoft changed to a Cheaper outside site
they employ Crowdstrike to update their
Security.

So Microsoft
sacked their internal team
then paid less to the the outside company

Microsoft 100% to blame

Nicky91 19-07-2024 12:14 PM

well Microsoft couldn't have known that Crowdstrike are of bad quality? given many big companies use that one

Sure but the have Back Ups that Failed

arista 19-07-2024 12:24 PM

One major problem,
the Airplanes will not take off
unless the other Nation is Accepting them.

Typical
Blue Screen says Recovery in the top
right corner,
and
(it looks like windows hasn't loaded correctly)

But it is not all fixed yet.

Nicky91 19-07-2024 12:33 PM

according to the NNCSC (dutch national cyber security centre) people who aren't affected by the outage to not install the update, those who are affected need to recover the system manually

this problem is accidental, not intentional

the CEO of Crowdstrike George Kurtz has said the problem has been identified and isolated and they are working on delivering fixes on a global scale

most small hospitals in my nation don't have this problem anymore

arista 19-07-2024 12:39 PM

London Taxis only taking Cash

No Cash - no journey.

arista 19-07-2024 12:41 PM

"delivering fixes on a global scale"

Yes Nicky so he should
this accident has caused trouble
across the World.

No good for a Plane to Depart
until the other nation can accept the plane
