How could he possibly have provoked her by being too nice?

Look, some people are just nice. Khaled has explained clearly that he simply reflects back what he is given and the reason he has been nice is because people have been nice to him. The refusal to understand that could point to deeper issues.

I feel that some don't want to believe a person can be just be nice is because they don't feel that within themselves so they struggle to understand how others can.

Let's normalise respect, compassion, and kindness.

Or… people just don’t believe it? It’s almost as if people have faked being nice before or something. Just because you believe it doesn’t mean others have to.

I am sorry that you saw yourself in my comment.

It wasn't directed at anyone here particularly.

Not so much that I felt it was directed at me. It felt more like you were generalising it when sometimes people just don’t agree, people are entitled to believe he’s performative whether you think he is or not.

Of course I was generalising... I don't have time to specifically address every BB fan individually so I tend to generalise.

But, I did not say all... Pay attention to the words in bold...

Those words mean not all.

Look, 'people' are entitled to believe whatever you choose, ofc, no argument there. I was simply giving my opinion of the IMO likely motivation behind that stated belief.

If someone sees themselves in this then.. Well...

That’s fine, then. Just thought the wording of you saying Khaled defending himself and then saying people refusing to “understand” his reasoning was poor imo. It’s not about people not understanding, it’s about people not believing it’s genuine. Maybe he is genuine but I don’t think it comes across that way and I’ve been a fan of plenty of “nice” housemates over the years, it’s got nothing to do with me or any other member on here as people having “deeper issues”.

That comes across like you psychoanalysing people which is something plenty of people on here are bitching about Ali doing to Khaled and/or other housemates.

We all 'psychoanalyse' the HMs here daily. You have been around long enough to understand that. Or is it just a problem suddenly here?

You are literally doing it here though. By calling him a faker you are doing it.

As I said, I clearly said that my comment was not in regards to anyone on this forum. It's a huge BB world out there, there is no need to personalise my observations on the wider fandom. I didn't even know about you when I wrote it.

Gosh, this is hard work and I wonder what we are really achieving except sniping at each other.

Can we draw a line under it, or is there more to come?

I’m not pretending that I’m not psychoanalysing him though?? We absolutely can draw a line under it cause we’re never going to agree on this subject and that’s fine, I’m not going to hold it against you that you have a different opinion, I just wanted to voice my opinion just as you did.

Nor am I. Nor is anyone.

Good. Moving on.

They have all done that.

If anything, saying that out loud probably makes him one of the less fake ones in there because others would deny it.

Plus there's such a thing as people putting on a brave face .

Get Martha to admit that her constructed jolly big girl persona is fake. Let's see if she is willing to do that, right?

And yep there is.

…. Pretending to be nice …

My point was that you/we can’t say her actions were unprovoked as we have no way of knowing what had gone on between two people leading up to the incident .

You could claim it was ‘seemingly’ unprovoked

1. He accused Hanah of being aggressive just because she dared to express an opinion.

2. He clashed with Hanah over the shopping list.

3. He has clashed with Ali.

4. He has nominated Ali, Lily, and now Martha.

All of his arguments and nominations have been women.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that Khaled is an evil monster that needs to be vanquished, but I do believe that he might have issues with women.

What do you guys think?

By all means, do say that he is ... well, not a monster, but most assuredly a profoundly unpleasant and insincere specimen of the lumpenproletariat,
to whom the notions of moral progress, detente and co-operation are alien.
His issues are not confined to women, he bestows them on anyone he perceives as a thread, which - where morals and integrity are concerned - is pretty much everyone else in the house, including Nathan (whom someone either on BB or on this board called "posh" - well, he is about as posh as a re- animated cadaver gnashing on its tibia).
You'd have to be pretty dense to fall for Khaled's spiel. He is a handsome young man, and that's about it. His leprous personality reflects an amalgam of envy, bitterness, profound intellectual dishonesty, resentment and an opprtunism to use the misfortune of his youth, the strictures of his religion, the inability to compete with Ali or Daze where honest discourse is concerned.
In short, he is about as nice as Vladimir Putin, Ali Khameini, Donald Trump, Xi Jinping, Viktor Orban, Benjamin Netanyahu and the Farage creature.
He is a vacuum awaiting a bile delivery.
An equally unflattering post of mine about Khaled placed yesterdauy never attained published post status.
I wonder.

Wnat an absurd assertion.
Do, pray, substantiate your claim that calling someone performative is to try to drag them down.
To where?
The gutter where they already reside?
What if the person accused of being perfomative is, in fact, performative?
What about the gravitas of the person who issues what you present as a slur?
Surely that must be born in mind?
What if it is the truth?
If an elephant tells says to a mouse "my, but you are tiny" the elephant is stating the obvious. Is it dragging the mouse down?
What if calling someone performative is stating the obvious, is that dragging
the performer down or is it simply saying it as it is.
I saw Khaled last night giving the performance of his life in his den in the bowels of BB, when he whined the equivalent of "Woe is me" at the power to manipulate the nominations so unwisely lavished on him by BB.
The wretch enjoyed every minute of it.
He is truly despicable -------- and a very, very poor performer.

Were you meant to quote me specifically on this because you’ve changed what I actually said? But it seems like you actually agree with me that he’s performative? :conf3:

You may well be right, in which case I owe you an apology.
The wretch in question is, indeed, a performer, albeit a poor
one. Even as a louse he is third-rate.

His not my worst Housemate in there, and I am sure that he is overall a decent guy, but I do think that there's more to him than he is showing so far.

And I don't believe that he is the only one tbf.

And I do agree about Ali having a bit of Misandry to her logic around the men @vesavius
