I remember John James making me laugh a couple of times in the series, but he was a deeply unpleasant individual imo that makes any of the final six of this series look like teddy bears in comparison.

And I agree with you about modern BB walking on egg shells, it's probably the number one issue that ITV's version has.

Hopefully they'll do better for the next Civilian series in terms of allowing the contestants to be more free with their behaviour.

The fact that Sarah got told off by BB ,and the fact people wanted Marcello to get warnings for some of his comments... just shows how hyper sensitive everything is today. And will once again be the downfall of the show. I wonder if BB will get moved to yet another channel ,it seems ever since channel 4 sold it ...other channels can't get it right.

Plus Segun got dragged like he was some married guy who cheated on his wife with 6 kids . Dean's behaviour never got brought up again at the final, and he was awful in the house.

The house guests seemed to just want to go for certain housemates,to make themselves feel better.

I don't think the producers would have aired the 'stop the gloats' fallout if Hanah and then, subsequently, the core hadn't had an understandable reaction to it. Once they had, the probably felt they had to air it alongside a rebike, for Sarah's sake as much as anything. If it had come out afterwards, there would have been accusations of a cover up which would have been worse for her.

I don't think they helped by airing Khaled's "under attack" comment seemingly out of context. They made it look like he was reacting to Sarah's remark but, going off live feed, they had picked up on Nathan's sniping and were instead/also commenting on that.

I really didn't like how Segun got treated, he is a decent guy who didn't deserve such a villainous portrayal on the finale.

And people wanting Marcello warned for his comments need to see Maxwell in BB6.

I have no issues with BB airing Sarah's comment, or even the public's reaction to it (I think it's OTT personally) but people do have the right to express themselves in ways that I don't agree with.

I will always stand by that BB shouldn't have talked to Sarah though.

Not just given warnings , but people were crossing their fingers and hoping Marcello would get kicked out just because they don't like some of his jokes :bored: . Marcello has had some of the worst hate I've seen, once accusations of "predator" gets thrown around ,I honestly think that's too far :umm2: . The guy did nothing near that level of alarming behaviour.

I'm just glad Marcello left through the front door and finished top 2. Amazing achievement.

Ewww Maxwell was gross for sure, he would have been cancelled today.

I think, in the current climate, they had to - even if it felt like an over-reaction.

I'm amazed at how some people felt so comfortable with accusing Marcello of such a serious criminal offense.

Stuff like that is why BB never returns to it's former glory, and never will.

Or maybe just don't, and subvert current expectations?

Please the thousands of people that didn't complain to Ofcom for example.

I think that I'm fine thanks.

Micro cheating just sounds so odd to me personally, but I am not a big fan of a lot of Internet slang tbf.

Away from tbf, lol, tbh etc.

Especially when he had the same humour as Emma & Sarah . Interesting how they don't get pulled up for it though ,Sarah herself said how similar they both are . She had such warmth and love for him at the final. I honestly believe their relationship was genuine and like a brother sister vibe .

Plus Emma was very touchy feely with him at the final,so if Marcello was this horrible creep...I doubt he'd get such affection and nice compliments from his housemates.

Even when they were nominating that time , it was Rosie & Dean that joined into the conversation about sex. But Marcello got all the blame as usual.

Maybe. But complaints tend to have more of an impact now than they once did.

Marcello was held to a different standard by the viewers because most of his vulgar language was expressly directed towards women.

As men we should realise that throughout history there has been a significant power imbalance between men and women and while the scales of that imbalance is far more even now than ever before, (at least in the UK) there are still certain aspects where the men have the “upper hand” and when it comes to sexual misconduct, women are far more vulnerable to men than the other way around.

As a result, men of course should be held to a higher account than women to readdress that imbalance.

As a man with some extremely close female friends, who was raised by a single mum and has a couple of sisters, respecting women and ensuring they feel comfortable and safe has always been a priority of mine. When it comes to safety, a Man is a Woman’s biggest threat. Men’s biggest threat are other Men.. Statistics show this.

So when men start crying about how they’re unable to say sexually suggestive stuff because the world is woke, because everyone is fragile, because blah blah blah maybe they should think of the nearest women in their lives and think how they’d feel if someone said some of the stuff Marcello did to them.

I am not suggesting Marcello is a predator, but some of his language could sound predatory and should be addressed.

I think if one of the biggest concerns you face is you can’t say everything you think because it might offend then I think you should take a look at your own privilege. Whining about people calling you out of saying sexually suggestive stuff that makes them feel uncomfortable makes you say like a proper baby.

I personally just don't agree with Islam on that.

The problem with some (not all) of the Marcello detraction base was that they would pull him up over jokes, over mildly offensive comments, and just any time that he would speak.

Don't get me wrong I definitely had my own issues with Marcello sometimes, but he definitely got overly scrutinized by some of the audience imo.

And tbf people are fragile in today's world, just look at what happened to Sarah as proof of it.

And that's devastating to hear.

Especially as it undermines any genuine reasons to complain to Ofcom.

…also doesn’t Islam also honour and respect women….I wouldn’t say that telling a female that she smelled of periods and teabags was honouring and respecting…nor getting in a female’s face when disagreeing with her…and etcetera and etcetera as Hanah would say…

Lots of rich Muslims come to the uk to indulge in drinking drugs and paying women for sex
Because its away from their own strict religious rules
