A 21 year old barely out of their teens is unlikely to have the life experience that a 30+ year old has and is vulnerable to manipulation by older adults - no magic button is pressed when people turn 18 that makes them suddenly "fully grown". The same older blokes get angry every time I bring up that it's icky for middle aged men to pine after people in their late teens and early 20's, none of this is surprising in the slightest.
